Crows are looking a bit fragmented now with the latest news about Robran adding to Jars retirement. Their best forward and CHF now departed....who is going to step up. Is there a problem at the club with the senior players and Ayres ??

Their ageing legs and poor recruiting will see them struggle over the next few seasons. Port played more games than most other clubs this year and even with our young guns we looked tired in both finals.

Based on current lists the Bombers, Lions, Hawks and Port will finish in the top 4 next year. Trading will be very important this year and moreso for the Crows.

Looking forward to belting the Crows again next year.

They are OLD - they retired - there is no problem with Ayres

Now we only have three players over 27 on our list

Bickley Smart and Matthew Clarke

Smart may also retire.

This will bring our list down from being about 4th youngest in the comp to even lower than that. So your comments on ageing legs are crap

We are clearly in a re-building phase where in we moved from 11th place to 8th place this year.

Next year we hope to go up again.

Robran has hardly played this year and was clearly over the hill

Jarman will be missed but life goes on.

Exactly Boof

Robran was hardly a key player for us this year, so I don't think he'll be a very big loss at all.

Jarman's retirement creates a bigger hole in our forward line, but with some good trading *fingers crossed* and the continual improvement of our YOUNG list I can see us still see us being well and truly in finals calculations.

Didn't take too kindly to QT's post eh BIG DADDY?? :D

Yep, there's plenty of team unity at the Cows. Latest new is that Vardy, K. Johnson and Eccles all want out.

Hello bottom 4.:D

Big Daddy has come to bigfooty to try match the quality of posting shown by such legends like Eastaugh38

Big Daddy, you are a fool....Matty Robran hasnt been in our plans this season

And we have 3 CHF who are better than him

Mark Stevens
Ian Perrie
Ken Mcgregor

Gee, how strange, 'experts' (I use the term loosely) tipping the demise of the Crows...... you obviously come from the same school of football thought as Robert Walls and Mike Sheahan. :D

And where did you hear that rumour??? portpower.com???

Or did Michealangelo Rucci write it in one of his well respected articles :o

How will you improve from 8th next year

Which players will replace the goal scoring of Jars and the key positions played by Robran....I can't see Hewitt, Stevens or Perre being the answer

The only games that they won convincingly were the games when Jars kicked a bag

I'm tipping a below 10th finish

Hard to say at the moment

Lets see what happens with drafts or trades

We need key forwards - no doubt about that

if we can get say a Lockwood and a Fitzgerald plus a small goalkicking forward we should be ok.

Good trading ??? ....does this include trading one of your few other goal kicking options (Vardy)

Young list both in maturity and physique i think.....they will take another 2-3 to build up some of them look like mini league players

and re QT...didn't read what he/she wrote....criticism does not concern me...if we were good enough we would have won.....the Port Tradition will provide sufficient vengence....when we hurt...we usually bounce back with a few premierships

If Adelaide don't do something drastic and soon, i can foresee a long period down the bottom of the ladder for the crows. Vardy will either be traded or delisted, Eccles is not much cop, but Mark Stevens has been sensational i must say.
i don't know why they traded for that big log Evan Hewitt. He's a waste of space.

I am not DEEJ Rohan Covernty you ****wit.

You have spent too much time smoking pot me thinks.

Never heard of them.....
Just stating an opinion....and one which we all know has validity

I thought Stevens was the CHB
Perre had one flukish game and the others were $hit..no talent
McGregor has had countless chances as CHB and CHF and can't cut it...struggles even at SANFL

Nup...still reckon below 10th

Just on the Crows needing Jars to kick a bag to win a game comfortably, Jars kicked 2 against the Kangas and we won by 62, he kicked 1 against the Hawks and we won by 38, he kicked 4 goals (not really a bag of majors) versus the Blues and we triumphed by 53. So I don't know where you got that statement from. I do acknowledge that Jars did take a good defender that will now go to a lesser forward.

Big Daddy, you can have an opinion, that's fair enough. Enough experts this year have placed their opinion into the open, such as the Crows finishing bottom :D :D :D

1999 13th
2000 11th
2001 8th

I can see an upward trend here, with the improvement of certain players, the confidence gained from our late season surge (which ultimately was futile), a full season with the new attacking gameplan and some clever trading, I can easily see us moving further up. This is my biased opinion obviously and factors need to fall into place for this to occur.

I'd rather people rated us as a below average team, a team of no hopers or one that will finish bottom four. While it rankles to hear such thoughts, I know it will steel the players to continue to improve and show how wrong these people are.

As for that Port tradition Big Daddy (of bouncing back, producing the goods in finals), it obviously came in handy in the finals?? :D

Or the loss of Jarman, Vardy, Robran and possibly Smart could be detrimental to a season of failure next year. Not to mention if Perrie, Mcgregor, Shirley fail to mature and get to that next level as footballers, the crows get dud trades and injury prone kids in the draft (ie Laurence Angwin), the crows can also go down the other end of the ladder.

I reckon the crows are a below average team full of no hopers and they will finish in the bottom 4 :D :D ;) :p

Then why did we win well against 3 of the top four sides?

If Crows finish bottom four next year Ill barrack for Port Power  and Both, wont happen.

As Ant stated, a good defender was needed for Jarman and although he could turn a game; should have retired anyway. Do you agree? Course you do...

Robran was much maligned by Crows supporters the world over (for darn good reason )and was pushed before he went out graciously anyhow, so he wont be missed

Smart is too old and will meet Robrans fate = Ditto

Vardy, if he's traded will be missed IMO. But hey, some would say he's inconsistent and as sure as the sun rises, some other young tyro will fill the breach

D Gallagher Ricky Oloughlin and Adam Richardson will go if the board know their stuff

That leaves at least 7 vacancies and the mail is that the Draft will be ripe for the pickin

Crows to finish bottom four:confused:

HAHA....Your pissed, joking, or both

:D
