Well I must be one of the few who love the new logo. And I'm a baby boomer *apparently*. My son is um... what comes next after Gen Y? - and he loves it too.

I don't love it but don't hate it. Its good. :thumbsu:

I think your son would be a generation now or next.

Gen Z (2000 to present)

Thanks for that - just looked it up and you are spot on!

  • Gen-Zs are the children of older and wealthier parents with fewer siblings.
  • They are given more entertainment and technology options and are likely to be the most materially supplied generation of children.
  • Gen-Z kids are given more consumer items than any other generation ranging from computer games and MP3 players to private school education, holidays and cars.
  • They are more sophisticated and “older” than previous generations. They are more worldly, aware of brands and marketing.
  • As they become teenagers they will have a greater ability to make buying decisions.
  • Fewer die young and Gen-Z will live longer than any previous generation (if they don’t get too fat.)
  • They will move quickly from one task to another, placing more value on speed than accuracy.
  • They will only have known a wireless, hyperlinked, user-generated world where they are only a few clicks from any piece of knowledge.
  • Media is not time or place-based. They will control how content is delivered to them.
  • They will be very empowered in the workforce because they will enter at a time when more people are leaving than entering.

A few of the Vic clubs have recently gone back to their CLASSIC jumpers. The most recent is the Western Bulldogs that I can think of. Its all the way you market it. Surely they could even come up with another new design that doesnt completely suck. Maybe they are waiting for our team to start playing for the jumper, before they bring back the old one. This years team didnt deserve to wear it!

Maybe they made the logo terrible so that when they eventually change it (back) fans will praise how it's such a good move and that the club listens to the fans.

The Vancouver Canucks changed their entire outfit, including colours, and logo in the 70's, and became a bit of a laughing stock in the NHL. But when they eventually went back to their original colours, and a more traditional logo, they were still ridiculed for just going back to the past.

I think the new logo has made the old one look a little dated, and if we reverted back I don't think it would be quite the same.

A totally new logo needs to be designed. One which actually has some thought put into it - and looks good.

Nah,

but I think the parents would infulence Primary school kids more than the logo.

Frustrated partents = kids with less attachment.

Definitely. I was 4 when the Crows entered the AFL and would have been disowned had I gone for another team. Which is how it should be. :D:thumbsu:

Unfoutunately I don't think they'd ever go back to the original crow, I accept that you sometimes have to adapt things but I would have preferred if they did something like this to it (obviously not the same exactly, but so you get an idea) by making the crow more real looking but still keeping a similar idea.

I think the thing that bugs me the most about the new logo isn't so much the stupid design of it its the weird mid blue colour of it. We have never worn that colour until that logo came out. Whatever the logo is, old, new, something altogether different it should be the right colour.

funny, I just did a little mock up with the same thought in mind, then i discovered this from years ago. mine obviously needs work, especially on giving it an eyeball of some kind.

hmm... this is vaguely interesting

this image was on a recent article on afc.com.au

note that the old logo is present, this pleases me.

could this possibly mean that our beloved logo of yore still has a pulse? is there another explanation?

Don't think there's much in it. I think they have used that photo a number of timesgoing back to 2009 when they launched the new logo, it's just a generic one I think. The old logo in the shield like that was never really completely scrapped, they sort of retired it to be our I don't know the word, heritage or corporate logo or something.

Nope, they announced the logo when it first came out with that image.

They described it as our new "heritage logo" at the time. You see it on letter heads and in places at the club.

Nothing to be excited about. Lego today is dreadful! ;)

 for kids but for kidults its excellent ! Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, London Bridge and now Sydney Opera House not to mention the Star Wars collection ! Yes I'm a massive lego nerd !

A lego replica of Adelaide Oval now that would be cool in a nerdy way !
