Win, lose, or draw our seasons over but IMO this week wasn't the week to blood youngsters. We can't allow Port Power an easy 4 pts and run into the finals. Let's hope we see Campbell, Pfeiffer and one of Meesen or Griffen in the 22 next weekend.

Good looking lineup this week. Bryce didn't do much and with so many guys coming back he relaly needed to do more against the Bombers :thumbsu:

Glad to have Shirley back. Porps > Pfeiff in the SANFL last week, was amazing with 30 dispsosals and 4 goals :thumbsu: Happy to have Dougie back on board as well :)

Carn Crowies

How could you say this is a good lineup this week on paper. It is worse than last week. Reilly, Doughty, and Campbell as a group > shirley, Porps, Douglas.

I'm all for Porps coming in. Can't help Reilly being injured. So I'm happy with that change (I would have brought in Porps anyway).

Campbell out and Douglas in is ridiculous. I'm not against Douglas (he is a young developing player), but to drop Campbell after one game pisses me off. Campbell's form has been better than Douglas. Shirley in (that's a step backwards). I don't mind seeing Doughty back in the SANFL but only if Pfeiffer comes in. At least the club would be moving forward. I would probably rather Doughty than Shirley though.

Selection panel are not rewarding the form of youngsters enough. Campbell deserved at least 2 games, Pfeiffer deserves to make his debut. I cannot see the sense in bringing in Shirley. If they brought him in because he's a run with player (substandard at that role at best), why would they drop Doughty who plays a similar role. I think Doughty actually does a better job than SHirley anyway (and that's saying something).

1. Campbell dropped, after one game.

2. Shirley back in, yes, he will guide us to our next premiership.

3. Douglas back after an average SANFL game last week.

4. WHERE THE FREAKING HECK IS PFEIFFER?

5. Pfeiffer isn't even an emergency.

6. Jericho is an emergency.

 :thumbsd:  :thumbsd:  :thumbsd:

Tell us how you really feel???:p

Shirley and Douglas got dropped for one week.
- Shirley didn't play
- Douglas got 17 possessions (according to advertiser) and Pfeiffer's form was much better.

Pfeiffer played better than Douglas and Jericho in SANFL and he is not even an emergency. CRAP!

Reilly will come back next week, and if Shirley and/or Douglas play ok this week it is very likely that Campbell and Pfeiffer may not get another shot. I'm so annoyed. It's bad enough for Pfeiffer that he has not been recognised, but for Campbell to be dropped he may find it very hard to get back in the side. GET RID OF THE DEAD WOOD.
Campbell for Shirley and
Pfeiffer for Doughty

Porplyzia and Douglas (I would have thought) are fighting for the same position.

Now Campbell and Pfeiffer need to both be in the best for Norwood to stay in the mix. Keeping in mind Reilley will be back next week.

Ive gotta agree with drummond on this one. The selections made are terrible. How can we drop Bryce Campbell after his first game and only playing half a game at that. The time he was on the ground he was okay. Pathetic decision.

How can Robert Shirley get re-selected. He is an average player and very average tagger. If he tags Shaun Burgoyne, Burgoyne will end up with 30 possesions and three of four goals. This selection is an absolute joke.

Pfieffer more than likely wont get a game this year as Neil Craig seems more worried about his coaching record than developing his younger players. John Meeson might as well start packing his bags as he has no chance of getting a game with the crows selection policy at the moment. As for people who think Sellar maybe a chance to get a game this year - yeah right

Maybe now we can understand why Fergus Watts returned to Victoria.

Port will win easy this week and shirley will get his normally bath as a tagger!
What a chance it was to play Pfeiffer this week. 3 players drop out through form/injury so therefore 3 players come in. Pfeiffer has been in OUTSTANDING form in the SANFL over the past 3 weeks and there’s nothing more he could’ve done. Yes he lost the “respect” of the players and coaching staff last year, but he said himself he had a big preseason to win it back. And despite this and his SANFL form he is still ignored, and not to mention he’s not even in the 25! Fact is this was the perfect time for him to make his debut and once again we’ve gone conservative. I know many rate Douglas extremely highly on here but there is no way he should have come in before Pfeiffer.

And I highly doubt Pfeiffer will even play this year. Next week Rutten and Reilly will be back, so can anyone see Neil ‘Conservative’ Craig make another change, an unforced one at that? No way! And besides, Jericho is ahead of Pfeiffer in the pecking order. Can anyone work that out? These selections leave me with absolutely no faith in the coaching staff.

And you’re right, Meesen is all but gone. We’ve had a few chances to blood him, last week for example, but we’re afraid, afraid to make a change that’s a little out of the blue. Why would he want to stick around at a club who just doesn’t seem the least bit confident in your ability?

I know I’ve had a few outbursts tonight, but I am just unbelievably disenchanted with this club. I will never give up on the AFC, but that doesn’t mean I’m not furious with those in power. I’ve seen Pfeiffer dominate in defence for 3 consecutive weeks for NO reward. Not only has he not made his debut, he hasn’t even been named as an emergency. Talk about an inability to REWARD the youth. Campbell worked extremely hard to overcome his injury struggles and he finally made his much deserved AFL debut. And after 3 sleepless nights he makes it to game day where he puts in a decent performance. He didn’t look out of his depth, he didn’t stuff anything up. And yet he’s dropped after 54% game time. Nice one Neil.

And let's just say Pfeiffer has a somewhat quiet game this week, there's no way he'll get a shot in the future! This was the time, THIS WEEK was the perfect time for him to debut, we've ignored it, and chances are he won't get a shot this year.

Maybe just maybe the people in charge don't see him in the same light as you Drummond. Sorry harsh but that is how it is. They make the decisions you dont, they stuff up they have to cop the public flogging.

And perhaps they don't think he is good enough.... thats how i see it. Jericho for what ever reasons shows more to the match committee than either of your favs?

How’s that fence going? Ever going to get off and actually have an opinion for once, other than the one the AFC would like?

Luke Jericho is the softest footballer going around, fact. Did you see his performance last week? He was good in his own right, but his opponent had close to 30 possessions, 2 goals and was named BOG. Now you tell me why he’s in the frame, especially when he's been outperformed by Pfeiffer over the past 3 weeks.

I think if anyone wondering what we are going to do when Rhett Biglands is back from injury i think we may have our first clue. I would say Biglands will definately be back in the team next year at the expence of our younger ruckman. So therefore we will lose Meesen. Maric and Griffen will most probably spend another 2 years in the SANFL waiting for there chance.

Didnt Neil Craig say when he took the coaching position a couple of years ago he has a responsibility to develop the young talent in the squad. Well Neil, you are failing?

GIVE THE YOUNGSTERS A GO!

.

I thought her opinion was that the AFC are the only ones who know ALL the facts. Her opinion of you wont be sitting on the fence

I am disappointed that Campbell has missed as I like to see first gamers get a block of 3 games to show their stuff. I would have liked to have seen Pfeiffer get a game as well for Reilly.

But I dont know all the ins and outs and wont throw the mother of all hissy fits because of the selection

Glad to see Doughty out, his free ride looks to be cancelled for now, but Shirleys looks like it has been renewed, will be interesting to see if he goes out if he has an ordinary game. Pfeiffer, would have been perfect to replace Doughty, very disappointed he didnt come in. Looks like with bringing in both Douglas and Porps one of them will spend more time in midfield, think it will be Douglas, would like to see Porps in there more

As i am not a redleg supporter no. As for sitting on the fence i choose to call it supporting my side. There are several things i would like to see the AFC do, but you know what I aint in the selction meeting, and my opinion on selections mean the same as yours not relevent. I don't think bringing in 20 untried klds as the solution to all our problems.

If my method of support is to do what a supporter is ie: pay a membership, not continually put down someone when i dont get my own way like a spoilt brat. It doesnt matter how good you think meesen is you have no say on what the AFC deems as attributes for their team.

I gather you are still a child, and thank god you wern't around during the Shaw years.

You a fan or a supporter Drummond, pay your membership? My opinion is whatever the hell i choose it to be, please dont tell me i am sitting on the fence.... as all i am doing is stating MY opinion too same as you. If that happens to match the club i support great if not then great too. But you don't support you personally crucify when thing don't go your way, name call and label. I'd like to think i am well above that.

Clearly the match committee knows more about players (SANFL form, training form, attitude etc) than any of us will ever know. It's one thing questionning selections (which are often puzzling, but there are always reasons for it), it's quite another when you insult the Coach, the Club and in so doing, the supporters! This Norwood obsession of yours has to stop Drummond. Players will be played when the match committee thinks they are ready and not a minute before. You either support the AFC or you don't. Right now it's clear that you only push the Norwood players barrow and don't give a rats toss bag about AFC team balance and experience! :thumbsd:

Doughty and Shirley have each been given a wake up call, it will be interesting to see how Shirley reacts to his dropping last week. Dogga will no-doubt get his opportunity next week. I think perhaps the thinking behind swapping Campbell for Douglas is that Douglas has played more games so perhaps won't be as overawed in a showdown. All else appears to be equal with them. Porps inclusion is a no-brainer.

SANFL form? Pfeiffer's been best/second best for 3 weeks running. So I think it's safe to say he's got that area covered. Training form? So let me guess, Shirley's training form was down last week, but good enough this week to get him recalled? :thumbsu: Well I think Pfeiffer's attitude would've been good prior to 4:30 today, not sure where his attitude is right now considering he's not even in the 25. Can't be good for the attitude if you ask me.

You're right; I should just accept these appalling changes and not say a word. Don’t ask me the point of a forum then.

Players will be played when the match committee thinks they are ready and not a minute before.
So let's get this straight jenny, you think Pfeiffer isn't ready?

You either support the AFC or you don't. Right now it's clear that you only push the Norwood players barrow and don't give a rats toss bag about AFC team balance and experience! :thumbsd:
LOL! If Shirley was so good for team balance, why was he dropped last week? :) Same applies for Douglas.

Doughty and Shirley have each been given a wake up call, it will be interesting to see how Shirley reacts to his dropping last week. Dogga will no-doubt get his opportunity next week.
So Doughty will be back next week? Wow, I look forward to next weeks selection night.

I think perhaps the thinking behind swapping Campbell for Douglas is that Douglas has played more games so perhaps won't be as overawed in a showdown.
Yes, Douglas’ 13 games and 11 possessions per game brings us a wealth of experience. :thumbsu:

For all we know, the club could still be concerned about Pfieffer's pre-season indiscretions, and there could be some sort of 'in-house' agreement between all parties that Meesen will be traded to Victoria at the end of the season and he won't get a game this year.

Perhaps - and this is just a wild possibility - perhaps we don't know everything that goes on down at West Lakes?

Just a thought.

Hehehe, watch Drummond go nuts!:p

Good to see Douglas and Porplyzia back, bit befuddled at what Shirley was able to prove to get a game unless NC just wanted more midfield experience in the side with Reilly and Dogga coming out. Seems a bit harsh to drop Campbell

I wonder if NC is just sending a message to Shirley and now Doughty.
wouldn't surprised if Dogga is back next week.

personally, I think NC's decision to leave out Shirley could've cost us last weeks game given the way the essendon on ballers molested us.

INteresting thread.

Pfeiffer is unlucky. Great form, deserves a crack. Although Douglas in my opinion looks a bit out of his depth at AFL level at the moment, I think he has a potentially much brighter future than Bryce does. Campbell may be considered unlucky but ah well. He'll get another go.

Shirley obviously comes in to tag Shaun B again. He's been in great form recently and Shirley has done the job on him in the past. It may be a negative move but it could also be a match winning move. Shauns kicked 8 goals in the past two weeks. Keep him goalless and theres a big chance youll win.

I'm sure he can hear you Drummond :thumbsu:

jokes aside, the internet and things like BF mean a club can hear its supporters much more clearly than it ever has before.

I have started to wonder in general, what effect this has. in a perfect world the answer would be zero, but I wonder...

Just like to add I think Port are going in too short up forward. I think you are a fair chance to win this game.
