Thats what i was thinking, but i doubt if the GWS offer is still on the table and if it is it would not be as good as it was.

Then again maybe they rate Walker and see what he is capable of when he is played as the key forward. Heck they might even value goals and consider 4 goals in a game a valuable contribution.

so there is actually no evidence that Taylor Walkers opponents have costs us more than 13 goals?

Funny that, but there is plenty of evidence that Craig has lost the plot.

is there much evidence of that either?

Tough video press conference

Most exciting list statement

We were bulldozed by a powerful club

Thought the rule trialled in the NAB cup where a free was awarded against the player who touched it last was a good one

Tough Thursday training session before Showdown

Keeping Henderson in team when his form didn't warrant it

Punishing a player for poor defensive effort when he oversees a game plan that doesn't require tackling

Overseeing a game plan that doesn't believe in kicking it quickly to key forwards

Admitting he doesnt know why we are poor at stoppages because he can't see it from where he views the game

Using age as an excuse when we have played younger teams

I'm sure there are others, would make a good thread:(

One of the rationales for not bringing in Tex was how well our forward line performed against Gold Coast. Well if you have a look at how the other teams have performed against Gold Coast we had the 2nd lowest amount of scoring shots. Only Port was lower. Is that game a good measure? Will it mean more than the low score we are bound to put up against Collingwood? So who in how forward line will be dropped as a consequence of our midfield getting spanked?

I think this week is going to tell us a lot about where the club is going

Not really, as any area we are not so perfect in we will have to work on it.

I also think the club (the decision makers for the long term future) know and understand where the club is at and one match won't make much of a difference.

I'm talking in regards to the loss

If we go out and offer nothing and get belted it is going to be tough for the board to continue to support the Craigy

@EC - personally I thought we were pretty average against GC, it was hardly an endorsement of the Craigy's coaching possie.

I disagree. Unlike last week, this week we are not meant to get close. Last week, Neil Craig was on a hiding to nothing – win and we were supposed to, lose and its all doom and gloom.

This week - a large percentage of people expect us to get belted against Collingwood, therefore if it happens, it was supposed to happen and no one will be surprised.

If we get close or even win, Craig looks like a brilliant coach for implementing a system that has given us a good opportunity to challenge against the premiers.

The only way I can see Neil Craig coming out of this game looking bad is if we are up by a large margin and somehow get rolled by stopping and basically giving up.

This week, losing will make it very easy for the board to back Craig

You just can't win. Can you, Alex?:D

Someone ask who we would prefer out of walker and Craig to stay well for me it's definitely walker! Contract wise he may be waiting to see if craig is coaching us in 2012 before he signs. Would be devastated if he leaves and Craig stays.

I agree. Last week we had nothing to gain. This week we have nothing to lose as we are expected to be belted.
As silly as it sounds IF we somehow won this week, it could fast track this squad 6 months!

These things are all relative:

Did our forward line perform well, when compared with the competition overall? No - but we're ranked 14th for points scored all year, so that's not exactly surprising.

Did our forward line perform better than it did over the previous 2 weeks? Definitely.

Of course, we were only up against GC - possibly the only team with a weaker midfield than our own (though they will soon surpass us as their kids gain experience). I suppose there's Brisbane as well.. Having a midfield which was breaking even, or better, definitely assisted our forward line. Then again, Bock was easily the best defender that Tippett has had to combat in the last 3 weeks, so it's not all beer and skittles.

really? so if we get done by 100 points no one on this board is going to care?
100+ they'll definitely care about - though I doubt that too many of us would be surprised by the result.

60+ they probably won't care about, as that is the "par" result for a team in our current position vs Collingwood in 2011.
