He's been dropped 3 times since becoming a regular member of the team at the start of the 2010 season. Every single one of those droppings has been thoroughly deserved.

Given that he's played 25 of 31 games for which he's been available in that time, it's pure mischief on your behalf to suggest that he's not a regular member of the team.

That actually wasn't a troll Vader. He has been dropped 5 times in a 40 game career.

And can you provide me with a list of the key position forwards that have played more games than Taylor prior to their 21st birthday?

If we limit it to the last five years it really shows how Adelaide have crucified Taylor Walker. We should make an offer to Jack Riewoldt, surely he has an enormous amount of bitterness towards Richmond about his times in the twos between 18 and 21 years of age. Then there's Chris Dawes, Josh Kennedy, Jarrad Grant, etc, etc, etc.

Still that doesn't fit in with the theory that Neil Craig is the centre of all evil.

I dont think he'd be too upset - he actually played 46 games before he turned 21 in October of 2009. In that year he missed 2 games, and I think that was due to injury.

In 2008 he missed only 4 games .

In his debut year of 2007 he played 8 games.

enough said.

I stumbled upon the James Squire Golden Ale at the Seven Stars the other week whilst in Adelaide - damn good drop, however the Coopers Clear {I'm in training} and Paleys are my staple!

Yeah the golden ale is nice too. Paleys are also my staple, but I enjoy a sparkling and even a vintage every now and then.

Is the seven stars still a hole? I went there 13 years ago when I lived arond the corner (The Earl was my local) and it was an absolute dive!

If you liked that, try and get your hands on Barossa Valley Honey bee sting beer. :thumbsu:

Re Taylor Walker:

IMO it doesn't matter what he does as we will still be shit due to who the coach is. As long as we keep Neil Craig as senior coach we will continue to be mediocre, we will only get better if we get rid of Neil Craig. As far as I can see, we could have Tony Lockett and Gary Ablett as our two leading forwards and we will still lose with out shit house game plan.

So it doesn't matter if he stays or leaves at this stage as the team and the results we want to produce, are always far more important than one player.

Phil Harpers' comments are very encouraging. During the pre-season, Walkers management adviced the club that they would postpone talks until seasons end. Now they have changed it to end of June. If he wanted to/or has signed with GWS then they wouldn't even mention contract negotiations this soon.

I think Tippett would improve immensely under a coach who comes up with a game plan that generates better entries into the F50. I'm not so convinced about Walker.

Walker just doesn't work hard enough to be successful at AFL level under ANY game plan. There is not a coach in the land who would put up with Walker's (lack of) efforts & performance.

Walker doesn't lead (and if he does, he gives up when his first lead isn't honoured) and he doesn't take contested marks. In short, he doesn't do what a KPP forward is supposed to do. His preference is to play as a crumbing forward, seagulling around the packs looking for a cheap disposal & goal. That would be OK, if he did everything else that's expected of a crumbing forward - the high work rate & tackling pressure to prevent the opposition from moving the ball out of our F50. He does precisely none of this. No change in game plan (the result of a new coach) is going to change this.

Now, there may be an argument that Walker doesn't work hard because he's not motivated to do his best for Craig. In that case he just needs to stop being a sook and grow the **** up!

Maybe they realise that his stocks are sinking, rather than rising - and they now want to get a deal stitched up while he still has some value. The ironing tastes delicious.

The only thing that has changed since then and now is that we're bottom four.

Didn't quite get the point?

So Taylor Walker plays 37 games before turning 21 and he received the worst treatment in the history of the AFL. The key forward that has played the most games before turning 21 in recent years is Jack Riewoldt with 46 games in a team that was at the bottom of the table and playing everyone except the mascot.

Didn't want to have a crack at the other players on the list? Why not just limit yourself to first round draft picks (Lewis Johnston says hello)

The point is that no-one who plays as a key forward as a teenager avoids a visit to the magoos in their first couple of years. Teams that are regular finalists often leave key forwards in the twos for three or four years. (Ayce Cordy says hello)

The hysteria over the "treatment" of Taylor Walker in Adelaide has been irrational and if you really believe he is the best young forward in the AFL good luck to you.

BTW, could it be possible that some sort of recent speculation is making Walker more likely to stay? Hmm.

Steven Rowe said about 15 mins ago that he knew as 'fact' that Taylor Walker hadn't signed with GWS.

I recon he (TW) will sign with the Crows the day after the club announce Neil Craig will no coach next year.

expect a signature Tuesday. :D

First of all, I never said Taylor Walker was the best young forward in the AFL .

Secondly, I only used Jack Riewoldt as an example because you made a stupid, sarcastic statement about his football career before the age of 21, without checking if you had any idea what you were talking about.

And for every Ayce Cordy or Lewis Johnston you produce to say "hello" to me, I will produce a Buddy Franklin or Matthew Pavlich to say hello right back

Well GWS certainly aren't using his name as a lure for other prospective players at this stage. So maybe... just maybe...

And you know this how?

What names are they using to lure prospective players to their club?

Which speculation is that...the possibility of Neil Craig moving on, or Mark Williams being the GWS senior coach by 2013??? :p

I was well aware of the list, kindly reproduced by Macca19. Have a look at the list. You don't have to be a schoolboy to know how to use the internet.

Over the last ten years there have been nearly 300 key forwards listed by AFL clubs. Taylor Walker has played more games as a young kid that more than 90% of them. Some future Coleman Medalists have had far fewer opportunities yet everyone makes a huge deal about the harsh treatment of Taylor Walker. I have never seen a game from Taylor to match Barry Hall in the 97 grand final.

Very unprofessional of paul connors to say that players rival sporting agents clients are definitely go to the Giants. Then he says one of his clients could earn an extra four hundred thousand if they left their current club to join the Giants.
This is the same guy that bagged South Australia last year.
