Pretty sure you're deliberately asking the wrong question there.

There might be team specific KPIs, but each player would have their own specific set as well.

Doesn't matter whether VB is doing the stuff Walker isn't, if he isn't meeting his KPIs and that policy is in place, then he should be dropped.

Sounds like a crap policy to me though; arbitary things like that are always stupid.

Was Harpers suggestion that van Berlo had failed to meet the policy three times in a row, or three times this season?

If its the latter, the policy wouldnt call for his being dropped...

Do we all feel you can put KPI's indivdually.

I'm a consultant/analyst so the idea appeals on one level.

But I'm just not sure you can put KPI's in place to give a true measure of whether someone should be in or out of the side. There have to be a range of qualitative factors (and to be fair maybe the KPI's are qualitative) involved.

For instace - how do you measure leadership for the senior playing group?
(sum of games ratio between themeslves and anyone they talk to for leadership purposes) / TOG?

yeah, ive got to say, id like more information.

It does sound fairly daft to assess performance in such a black and white numbers way though. Would love to know if the KPI are stagnant, or take the games circumstances into account. For example surely Walker isnt expected to do as much in a wet game etc.

Adam Simpson (Hawthorn assistant) talked about the KPI system they use on AFL 360 this week. He said they meter things like spoils for defenders at each break to see if they are achieving the number they should.

I'm sure Adelaide defenders get more than collingwoods being they see the ball more. I wonder they work out how many they should get?

According to David Parkin on AFL Teams, Walker is not signing with GWS and will stay with the Crows. :thumbsu:

He also mentioned Bernie Vince, said Collingwood are going all out to get him.

Scotty Burns should know what to ask for in a trade :D

Parkin's mail is usually pretty good

Happy that someone has said Walker will stay, especially Parkin who is pretty reliable. Also Vince should stay to see if the new coach can get a season out of him at his potential unless Collingwood offer up Wellingham or Beams. Either way if he has a good season next year, youd expect his trade value to be a little bit more for the teams challenging for the flag. Which is the draft which is the first uncomprimised draft since 2009.

I think it would be our disadvantage, we can't judge him on a form slump, that would be to our peril when he tears it up at Collingwood. Let Vince flourish under a new coach.

its been one hell of a form slump

one good year un how many ?

I've always been confident in Tex staying, we need a good news story and it would be a fantastic boost to the club, playing group and supporters if they can get it done and announced

You don't think that Buckley (or Goodwin) could ride him to work at the level required? Goodwin did it previously..

the coach will have 40 players, 22 games and a host of other issue to worry about than getting Bernie Vince to pull his finger out.

I would think Goodwin would be mightly pissed off he has to treat Vince like a 2nd year rookie again rather than a senior player.
