Regardless of what people may think of Walker abilities he most definitely captures the imagination of people and brings new fans to the club. As a young kid, you don't really notice anything outside spectacular goals and exciting peices of play. In a period where both SA clubs are doing very poorly, having Walker on board will be instrumental in attracting the next generation of AFC fans. Must keep AFC!!

Other then Money playing in Sydney be it for GWS or the Swans probably doesnt hold any appeal being Adelaide is closer to Broken Hill and he was an Adelaide supporter growing up. With a change of coach I do see our prospects of keeping him improving especially since the playing group fought for him to play by demanding Bicks to play him. Since GWS has made their offer to Phil this really means its entirely in Adelaides court to re sign him. Adelaide should be able to match anything thrown at Walker from now on.

If he turned around and demanded a trade I would demand high draft picks that maybe we can on trade to GWS or Gold Coast to get some of their already pre selected players back home.
 
I think one of the problems with the AFC was that we resigned a lot of people after bumper years and also signed out mid range players to higher amounts to protect them from GC/GWS. I think we have players on superstar wages who fall way short of the superstar output.

Awesome to hear. Put pen to paper Tex...

Although it is somewhat convenient that he's finally saying he wants to stay publically now that Davis has come out as the GWS signing - he no longer can use that as bargaining power.

Oh well, who cares - would rather keep Tex than Davis.

And also I guess to stop posters from other teams coming in here and saying how they heard from a friend of a friend that Taylor doesn't want to be at The Crows next year.

That's not going to go down well with the Port faithful. As soon as Davis announced he was gone the Port supporters were desperately trying to find out whether they (GWS) could nab Walker as well (which they cant). Looks like they are about to be hit with the reality that Walker is a crow for life :thumbsu:

Get busy phil. probably silly but maybe front loada long term contract for him? Lock him in for the next flag tilt but give ourselves room to their money at other guyd later

Can you find one of these quotes? I had heard he was considering his future if Craig was coach, which I have posted before. I spoke to someone after Craig left and I asked for an update. His comment was he was more likely now that Craig had gone.

But awesome news to hear it from him. Thank ****, we needed some positivity.

That's great.....but I won't be cheering till he signs, but based on that, it won't be too far away (as our season ends in 4 weeks).
