of course i want him here. i dont want him kicking 60 goals for someone else. he's our best forward, our most accurate kick, and especially in the last 2 weeks, has shown some real desire. unpredictable yes, but i want him much more than i dont want him.

Ralph the rumor dude on 5aa said that Walker has asked for $400k per year. The Crows asked him what he thought his rating was at the club. He said 10th. The Crows said he wasn't and to think of a new figure.

Could well be bullshit, but where would he rank? Here's mine:

Thommo
Johncock
Rutten
Tippett
Jacobs
Vince

After that it gets difficult, but the club would have VB in there.

Douglas only because he has won a BF.
Then Walker, Danger, Otten, Sloane, MacKay would all be pretty even.

Thats the rankings now, but going forward Walker would be expected to move up.

Is Walker worth 400k a year?

Saw someone posted this in another thread but thought it deserved its own...

Ralph the rumor guy says Walker has asked for 400k in his next contract, and AFC told him no. Walker thinks he is the 10th best player on our list, and wants the coin. Should Adelaide pay up? I would be absolutely shattered if this is true and he left for money elsewhere.

Personally I would pay it in a heartbeat...

TBH I don't like that figure but I can understand why he'd expect something like 400k. We're paying Tippett something like 600k when he isn't worth that...yet (I know this was to keep him away from GC). Tippett hasn't accomplised much more than Tex while they've both been here. Also need to consider how Bicks (or the new coach) may want to structure the team going forward. Who will be the centre piece of our attack? This person will probably command a fair wage. 400k for Tex his high but I can understand his reasoning behind it (if these rumours are true of course).

but also, he is like 99% of people who "predict" things - they get information to the public before the official source

or they make so much shit up that something has to be right.

Honestly, Ralph's strike rate is embarrassingly low considering many of the rumours he proposes are things that you could expect to occur anyway.

I'd be surprised if he gets 50% of his calls right. There is no greater proof that he is likely Rucci, than the fact that 5AA continues to give him airtime and talk as though he's "always on the money" despite being disproven almost every time he comes to air.
