Not really, as any area we are not so perfect in we will have to work on it.

I also think the club (the decision makers for the long term future) know and understand where the club is at and one match won't make much of a difference.

Your recent spate of common sense is worrying me! :p;)

You have no idea how badly I want him back in the side, but I'm also filthy at him for putting us all in this position.

The opening two seconds is telling. "Crows need a steadying goal."

Guess we'll just have to rely on Brent Reilly for that this week.

Same for me KE. He belongs in our side. He SHOULD be there. But he only has himself to blame for not being there.

If there's ever a sign of the demise of your faith in Craig, this is it. You've shown before your heart rules your head, but this is the king of them all.

"He belongs in our side. He SHOULD be there" yet you can still find an excuse for Neil as to why he isn't.

You know deep down Jen. You know. Just relent. It'll be a weight off your shoulders. This blind NC faith is sapping your strength.

I disagree. Unlike last week, this week we are not meant to get close. Last week, Neil Craig was on a hiding to nothing – win and we were supposed to, lose and its all doom and gloom.

This week - a large percentage of people expect us to get belted against Collingwood, therefore if it happens, it was supposed to happen and no one will be surprised.

If we get close or even win, Craig looks like a brilliant coach for implementing a system that has given us a good opportunity to challenge against the premiers.

The only way I can see Neil Craig coming out of this game looking bad is if we are up by a large margin and somehow get rolled by stopping and basically giving up.

This week, losing will make it very easy for the board to back Craig

If we win, he should be recognised as a brilliant coach for implementing a system that can beat the Premier's.

Seriously, if we get up against Collingwood, would you be happy? Or would you be just putting it down to having 'a luck day'??

really? so if we get done by 100 points no one on this board is going to care?

Would you be surprised? I think it is more likely than us winning. I will be amazed if we lose by less than 10 goals.... Our only hope is Collingwoods complacency....

Depending on what happens over the next few weeks.

Brilliance isn’t achieved from one individual act, it’s the accumulation of a number of small things brought together to form one action. If we beat Collingwood and then lose to Brisbane, the victory will mean SFA.

It’s the same as making the top 4 but not utilizing that advantage. Did we reach that point because we were one of the best four sides in the competition or did we get there because we had one of the four easiest draws to achieve that final point? One action doesn’t mean someone is brilliant, a number of small action put together does.

If we win a permiership, I will say Neil Craig is a brillant coach, until then....I won't be.

I give you credit for persistence.. but honestly. How can you possibly argue that Tex has anyone but himself to blame for his current situation?

That would be reasonable if the message we were sending with our selections were consistent. We carried Henderson for 6 weeks.

Our game plan which results in a poor tackle count, poor hard ball get count and contested ball also contradicts Craigs desire for more defensive effort from Tex. If its so important to Craig why has he created a game plan suited for girls?

Was that Taylor taking another handball receive and kicking a goal?

Can you remind me of the big pack mark-Goals or the Contested Mark- Goal moments?

My apologies, I was thinking of Jack Darling, Chris Dawes, Jack Riewoldt ..............

Kurt Tippett? Nope, we traded him for a midfielder

You have no choice but to tell yourself this. I would too.

Actually if you go through some of stabbys vids the reason why hes out of the side is there to see. I found this first try.

Is rather hard to stomach. Love the little hop skip around danger... just watch him the entire bit of play a couple of times. Two seconds in he's given up, despite the ball still being in reach... then he hops around dangerfield like you see the kids do at half time- the ball is still gettable mind you, then he joggs it out while the ball goes down to buddy.

Then imagine the coach watching this, having told him to lift in that regard, over and over and over. Blighty wouldnt tolerate it :p

Its the easiest thing in his game to fix. Anyone can chase. Even the crows concede he wont be good defensively- they dont care. Its just hes put himself a position where if he doesnt contribute on the scoreboard, he will find himself out of the side for efforts like the one I highlighted. His natural talent should excuse some sins- but not that shit.

The first goal was good enough for me. Half volley, pick up, 60m kick off a step straight through the middle.

There's barely a player in the competition who can do that, let alone our squad.

And we're having him work on his "defensive pressure" at a level 5 rungs below AFL.

What about when he doesnt do that?

Also re defensive pressure, I dont think hes at norwood to work on it, rather to see evidence that hes actually capable of it- at any level.

I dont mean to bag him. I love natural goalkickers and hes the best since modra and fudd. I should probably say that if it was a choice between walker or craig- id pick walker, so this is not in defense of craig.

I do find some of his efforts hard to watch though, and I dont think they are defendable.

There's an article about Walker's situation on the AFC website. Some selected highlights:
Craig reaffirmed Walker was a required player at the club, saying the talented goalkicker's situation was no different to that of Bernie Vince or Andy Otten, who are both yet to re-sign with the club and have also been dropped to the local league this season.

"I'd like to think that Taylor understands…and that Bernie Vince and Andy Otten understand that just because you get omitted from a side in this industry it doesn't mean the club doesn't want you, or that you're future is somewhere else," Craig said on Thursday.

"You've got to be stronger than that and I'm sure those players will be.
He also gives reasons why Walker hasn't been selected for the Collingwood game this week:
Craig praised Walker's "offensive" game for the Redlegs last weekend, but said he wanted to see more from the former NSW Scholarship holder defensively.

"Taylor was really good for Norwood in terms of his attitude and offensive work…but I still want a bit more from him in terms of what he's going to be exposed to when he comes back to AFL and that's the defensive action," he said.

Got to love Craig's advice.

'Hey Taylor, ive dropped you for something ridiculous and wont be playing you any time soon, and sure you could be getting far better money and opportunities elsewhere, and might actually play AFL football there... but you should be stronger than chasing that and commit to several more years at Norwood.'

It's getting obvious that Craig resents the fact that Walker might leave, or has already decided to go.

The GWS opportunity is out in the open. Walker's management have said no negotiations until the end of the year. This offends Neil to the core - how could Walker possibly not want to be part of this dynasty we're building?

We saw when Bock left just how much it hurt Neil. Once bitten, twice shy.

He's not going to pick him until he signs.
