Interesting observation.

The complete invisibility of Fagan and Chapman is an indictment on their supposed leadership of the club - they are completely invisible...

It’s hard to believe anyone in that position would be so arrogant or gutless as not to front up...

Maybe there is something going on in the background?
Looking at Fages and Nigel Smarts twitters

Fages didn't "like" anything from between the Hawks game until Lynch signed, bar a tweet about some rugby reunion. Didn't "like" our announcement about CM. Didn't "like" Burton and Pike's performance. Nada.

Smart off in Singapore playing video games.

No support for Pike and Burton whatsoever.

No.

I’m not happy with where the club is at the moment but what we did wrong I believe is we did not complete a proper review of the GF loss. That is where it started - for the previous two years we were the most offensive team in the AFL but attack doesn’t win GFs, it starts in defence.

We failed to deal with the Lever issue in the finals series.

And never underestimate the loss of both McGovern and a Smith to our team and yes I believe with those two in, we would have won - it is all about structure and they were crucial to it.

You can tell a story without telling the whole story. If the information is genuinely that damaging then you need to have an action plan in place to mitigate the damage like say FIRING SOMEONE AND HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.
Huh. So if I worked for you and stuffed badly, damaged the reputation of the company and alienated fellow employees you would hold me to account. Tough boss.

So you honestly believe if we tell the whole story, they will stop? Not on your bloody life.

Seriously, some people on this board are deluded.
I don't want to downplay our incompetence but I must admit this is going way over the top. Port players assault policemen, others are accused of sexual assault and there is nothing like this hysteria. There must be alot of people out there who really hate the AFC. Most of it self inflicted.

If anyone thinks this will be anything other than presentation of a united front, you don't know this organisation.

There may be some acknowledgement of things we could have done better and that lessons are learned.

But this will be about backing in the successful team that got us to a GF, assuring the members that the season is still alive, that the players are united, and everything is on track
I posted this with sarcasm.

Having seen the shambolic presser, I can only wish it had gone this smoothly.

Campbell Brown and JB were right on Talking Footy. Come out at the start and say this it failed and it's not a big deal. Denying everything for 7 weeks only made it worse. McClure kept getting on his high horse with stories about players so scared, but he can't talk about it while BT kept hammering him.

I reckon we should leave it be now and then wait to the end of the year to see who gets sacked. The AFC is clearly incapable of looking or acting with credibility so we should just let it go before we dig ourselves a deeper hole. However, there must be big changes at the end of the year.

It was a good point raised above. The CEO seems strangely disinterested and removed. Maybe he knows he will moving on at the end of the year.
He might. Maybe he can't get the board to sack Burton and is just hanging him out to flap in the wind and distencing himself from this mess too.

There's a segment on talking footy where hutch is basically saying Burton's position is under serious threat at the end of the year, but that Pyke is the one that should bare the majority of the blame.

This was posted on twitter and I noticed that Nick Poulous liked it.

Make of this what you will.

All the media have said is we should have come out at the start of the press conference and explained that we had parted ways with CM, the reasons why, provided some details and then we could have moved on. All that makes sense. How did the club not have a better strategy to handle the press conference given they called for it?
Don seemed shocked to be there.
