Yep that is why Glenelg crashed out in straight sets last year, they had no hope once North were knocked out.

There is a big 1 now.. Central.. don't try and chuck Glenelg in as one of the big clubs. It is quite hilarious really.

Depends what we are talking SUCCESS then we are not in the top 4 although we will always be able to look down on Norf

If we are talking $$$$$ then we are still top 4 maybe top 2

I have no problem at all with the SANFL who whoever bending over backwards to help out the Port Magpies. But under no circumstances should they, or any SANFL club, be allowed to align with an AFL club. Port supporters should be getting of their asses to help their club out rather than sitting around blaming everyone else. I might even throw in a couple of hundred myself.

I also find it astounding that Port people and others keep bringing up Centrals. So Centrals should suffer because they have been a well run, successful club. Could you imagine if the league did the same to Port during their dominance in the 70's and 80's, Port people would have been shouting foul from the rooftops.

If the Crows win the flag this year, the league should make us sit out of a few drafts just to give the other teams a fair go - click your heals three times and repeat, "I wanna................................."

Port Adelaide was bigger than the competition.

When you see arrogance like this you can see why the other 8 clubs were so quick to vote against a merger. So they would start with an off field merger but whats to say they would stick to their word. You can gurantee 5 years down the track they would have been pushing for something else, probably a Port Power reserves side. As this club has shown time and time again its people cannot be trusted. Turn your back on them at your peril.

That about sums it up

Gee you're clever. You can take out one sentence from a post and use it as a preface for your repetitive, blinkered spiel. What is this "sticking to their word" crap? Do you actually read anything? A condition of the merger was that it was to be revisited by the SANFL in three years. What power would Port Adelaide have had to do anything differently in 'five' years time?

Does "time and time again" actually mean just once? Read your first sentence there again. Was the vote about a business plan, or about vengeance? It's clear what you think.

Oh please, that’s like saying Richmond, Carlton, Essendon and Collingwood are still the big 4 AFL clubs. Once upon a time it was correct but it’s simply not true anymore.
The big 4 doesn't exist anymore and never will, it's the Big 1 plus a couple of straglers and then the rest.
Glenelg with all of their 4 flags and non-travelling fans?
Yes Glenelg, who drew 15,000 to a game at Glenelg Oval against Sturt.

When those four clubs are up and about then the competition is fantastic, crowds are big and interest is high. When it's Centrals vs the Eagles then it's shit and no one cares.

The big four are still the big four. They are still the ones that attract the big crowds when they are playing well. What was the crowd at the 1998 Port v Sturt GF? Reckon it would have been slightly ahead of those CD-WWT blockbusters.

Ok there is Centrals and yes they've dominated on and off the field for a decade. But no one enjoys any rivalry with them. They are just good, win a lot, everyone hates them and we wish they would go away. They don't ignite the competition like the others do.

I wonder if Power fans only want the Magpies to survive provided they're aligned with the Power. What about if a white knight came along and guaranteed their future for the next 20 years but with no connection to Port Power.

I want the Magpies to survive because I am a member and supporter of the club. I couldnt care if they are aligned to the Power or not.
