Ummm, why. I went to AAMI back in 2004 when we played there, god knows we were half the team we are now and the place was packed then.

Why wont the ground be full?

Haven't had a packed stadium for a long time, plus it's a saturday game, lots of people have their own sporting commitments and it's also gonna be absolutely freezing and possibly wet & windy. I would be going however I have a work pub crawl that starts at 2pm so I wont be able to attend.

Still expecting about 40k though.

because it's A Saturday afternoon alot of people play their own sports on this day and hence can't make it. Which is a shame cos it'll probably be a great game.

Hmm what a load of shit Jeremias.

Carlton play 4 interstate games this year (only 1 in the first 10 rounds)

I don't care what you say but that's bullshit.

Try playing in Subi twice, AAMI twice, SCG, GABBA, SS & Aurora all in one season and see where you'd be on the ladder. You wouldn't know what ****in hit ya if you actually had to travel interstate more than 4 times a year.

Once again, I reiterate - how on earth is that our fault? We don't make the fixtures.

Seriously, what do you expect? I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it seems logical that an interstate club would play more games out of their home state than a Victorian club would play outside Victoria.

That's the Carl v Adel thread in Round 6 from your board.

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=436093&highlight=Carlton

And that's the thread from our board in Round 6.

Both threads were 300+ posts long and both supporters were dishing it out equally so don't give me this "you're as bad as your friends from Alberton" rubbish. Take a look thru some of those threads as well mate and I think you'll find it's the Carlton fans being annoying little shits and carrying on about how their midfield is superior to ours and rah rah rah.

Woulda thought Carlton fans would have learnt their lesson after the utter shit they posted last time.

How about you ask the respective club moderators how many posts they had to delete due to inappropriate behaviour?

Not sure about the Carlton board, but I know for a fact that the Adelaide moderators deleted a fair few posts because they were completely irrelevant and insulting posts made by Adelaide supporters, and aimed at Carlton supporters.

Don't think you are any different from other clubs - in fact you are not. The amount of shit I had posted towards me on this board before our last game was ridiculous.

Which all stems back to the crap that was coming out of the Carlton fans mouths. Back in round 6, Carlton had won their second game in a year and their fans just turned into arrogant pigs and I think a few of our fans got pushed over the edge when some of you started to come in here and talk about your "superior" midfield and ruck and all kinds of laughable shit.

The best thing about those threads is the Carlton supporters talking up Cameron Cloke and Kreuzer as way superior ruckmen to Griffin and Tippett:rolleyes:

um. Cloke and Kreuzer ARE way superior to Griffin and Tippett.
Cloke is very underrated, and Kreuzer is a deadset champ in the making.

Hopefully things will go our way when our lot finish developing, but right now...

Did you watch our game against them earlier this year? We flogged them in the ruck and I'd expect us to do so again this week. However we do have to be careful of Kreuzer as he's generally good around the ground and is dangerous when floating up forward, Tippett will have to work on his accountability in that regard if he's playing as our second ruckman.

Tippett went a long way to winning that game for us in a 5 minute spell, where he gave Kruezer a real bath.

This is going to be a cracker. AFC by less than 3 goals. The Blues have come on more than expected this year. They are only a backline and forward line short of being a premiership contender.

Just like your midfield, our defense is actually very underrated.

We've been able to build a fairly decent young backline together that has been improving as the season progresses. Guys like Jamison, Thornton, Waite, Bower (prior to injury :(), Armfield (ditto), Browne etc. are really coming on in leaps and bounds this season, and believe it or not, no longer are our major worry.

Looking forward to a great game :thumbsu:

Mate, I was only joking. I thought I might get a bite. Forgot the emoticon thingies. I'm a big Jarrod Waite fan. If he stays in the backline he will be one of the games elite CHB's.

You do need a FB though, Thornton is average.

I agree that Waite is a very good player, Carlton are fast becoming an exciting team to watch when on a roll.

Before the game on Sunday I was hoping the Dogs would beat them because a Carlton win would leave them a game behind us and with the match this Saturday...

But seeing Carlton just run all over them was very entertaining and I was hoping they would pick up the win, which of course they did. They also have one of my favourite non-Crow players in Fevola, I would kill to have him at West Lakes.

No matter - there was no malice in my post either way.

The trouble with Waitey is that I doubt there is a more frustratingly inconsistent player in the competition. At his best, he's absolutely awesome. At his worst, he is downright one of the worst players in the comp and nothing seems to go his way. Played exceptionally well on the weekend and seems to thrive when playing a looser role. Usually struggles when he is forced to play really close-checking, although sometimes he excels.

You do need a FB though, Thornton is average.

Thornton isn't a FB, he's been moved to a pocket this year and has done very well. Our FB is Jamison and he's come on in leaps and bounds this year to become, no doubt, one of the first picked in our starting 18 every week, despite still being a rookie listed player. He's a star :thumbsu:. But you are right - we still need one more tall defender, althouth Bower can be pretty handy in that role. That's where Mark Austin comes in, and you may know a fair bit about him seeing as though he's from SA. He's come into the side and is being blooded into the seniors probably for the rest of the season. He's coming along well too, and is a real hope for us down back in the long run.

Ok, I think we will win this by about 20 points maybe? yes...? no?
It will be hard considering Carlton just knocked off the Dogs, But I think we'll have the advantage at AAMI but it won't be too easy, if we win, we just about end their campaign, if we lose, we're on a knife edge. I'm pretty confident we'll win and I think this match will be similar to the earlier encounter this season. But who should listen to me? Everyone! No, i'm a fairly average predictor of games.

And it looks like the game will be live on Channel 10! Yay! No dumb delayed telecast.

Crows by 20 points... :)

Whatever the state of your backline or forwardline, there's no doubting your midfield is now exceptional. Gibbs looks a different player. At the start of the year he looked out of place and largely outside, now he looks every bit the pick number 1. With exceptional talent like Waite/Kruezer/Gibbs/Murphy/Fevola and Judd, it won't be too long before Carlton are back up there amongst it.

Mate, we've been through so much shit over the last 7 years.

You have no idea how happy that makes me when I hear/see that stuff :thumbsu:

I have noticed Carlton play pretty good footy at the TD when conditions are perfect

However, this weeks conditions will be far from Perfect and Carlton will be exposed to greater accountability from Crows players

Reducing turn overs will be the key to Carlton's chances

Can the blues manage expectations and plant their feet back on the ground

we beat port ova at aami in wet conditions didnt we?
and port bear you guys a few weeks ago?

We beat you last time we played you didn't we?
yes but things have changed radically at the CFC since we last met!
should be another sorta good mostly dull game.
not confident this week
but i believe we may have a bit more form than the crows
no predictions from me
good luck to all
as long as shitkilda dont make the 8 im happy:D
