As much as it would of been nice to see brouch back in the line up tomorrow, I think it was the right call leaving Lyons in the side who was the only player he could of replaced. We need to keep to our team structure at the moment as it's more important than winning right now.

Also, rewarding players who are playing well at top level will be great for our culture in the long term.

I'm rarely this confident about a Crows game. As I said earlier in the thread even if Freo refind some of the confidence they had last year, they've been decimated by injuries.

I imagine they'll go ultra defensive and try smother the contest. I'm confident our game plan won't collapse.

Plus the team will really lift for a superstar of the club's 150th!

The team that Freo are playing is almost as bad as the pre-finals round 23 teams they play. Losing this will be like losing to Gold Coast and GWS back in their first/second years.

Happy with the selections, Lyons deserves his spot and Crouch will benefit from the extra miles in the SANFL. The 60 rotations may actually help him gain the fitness.

We shouldn't have much trouble tomorrow, to lose would be a drastic improvement from Freo and also a massive drop off from our first 5 games this year.

Freo are a broken team and pretty much their entire top tier is out. They're worse than Port. Much worse. We will shit it in.

In our 2 big wins this year our problem has been taking the foot off the pedal early. We could have won both games by 10+ goals, but let both Port and Richmond get junk goals at the end.

I guess the other consideration is that we need to conserve energy these days due to the reduce interchange caps and having to keep team in good shape for the next game.

So once a team gets well in front, it might not be worth spending the extra effort to keep the scoring rate up (& maybe increase injury risks) if the other team is not really making significant ground in getting back into the game (unless we need the percentage boost).
