Ross is a sly fox, wouldnt surprise me if he has put a pen through this season after last weeks loss and will reload and start preparations for 2017 especially given he has been guaranteed a 5 year deal.

That may mean trying to beat the Dons to the number 1 draft pick, we have seen Carltank, could we see FreTank? Grabbing early draft picks and use that as currency to grab McCarthy and Hogan wouldnt surprise me. Mind you the way Fremantle have played this season they dont need to tank, just play like they have for the first 5 rounds.
Fremantle selection this week will be interesting. I suspect Lyon will bring in younger guys rather than going for the trusty older fringe types, as he looks to rebuild. He may as well get games into the younger talent, given their season is cooked & he has a 6 year deal.

Different story for Hardwick, Hinkley & Buckley as they don't have 5 year deals...

I am concerned about the weather, probably suits Freo.

The weather is no excuse for our performance.

Only helps Freo reduce the margin.

And Ross was banging on about this the other week - that Freo lacked early picks in the team.

A lot of Theon Greyjoy about this thread, have you all been neutered by Ross the Boss recently.
Danger game, backs against the wall...
Danger of historic thrashing, freo have no wall behind them, they have fallen off the cliff. There is no pressure to perform for them whatsoever, there is no expectation, they will be bringing in so many guys that haven't been good enough to push for selection.
The players holding them out can't complete a single transition without turnover, so how good are they?

I think the question should be: how bad are they? We can't even rely on an ounce of luck.
If we all fell into a barrel of boobs, we'd all come out sucking our thumbs.

The forecast for Saturday is a late shower so I'm not sure why some are concerned about the weather. I hate marking games as certain wins (especially after the 2014 Melbourne game) but there is no excuse for this one.

Geez Freo's defence looks horrid this week. Dawson and Pearce their KPD's. Our tall forwards SHOULD have a field day.
Pearce looks a decent prospect.

Dawson sucks.

I must say I am a bit worried.
Everything logical says we should smash them - we are in good form, going in unchanged with close to best team available. They are playing like rubbish, with superstar players missing.
Yet, the thought of Freo starting 0 - 6?
That just doesn't sound possible, so the little doubting man in my head says that something bizarre could still happen.

We went something like 0-6 or 0-7 in 2010 after starting the year thinking we'd be top 4, no?

Sure did. I had us pencilled in as 6-0 in a canter. Quite the opposite to this year where I though we'd be lucky to not be 0-8.

Fun times!

Remember coming into R1 and thinking we'd just shit it in against Fremantle in Perth, but then Michael Barlow's debut happened ... fast forward two months or so and we'd taken until the 4th quarter to get comfortably ahead of fellow bottom placed Richmond. What a year!

Will never forget Old Mate Neil outright stating we were gunning for top 4 in the preseason.

Anything less than a 8-10 goal win will be disappointing.

Not because of how soft Freo may seem to be, but because of how well we have played against the Swans and Hawthorn. We can not take the foot off the pedal and let any complacency creep in. This team is in good form right now. The two games after this one are both tough and we need to keep the momentum going.
