The Crows game from last year is one of three that I can't shake from my memory. The other two were also at Marvel against the Hawks and Freo.

In these three games we were comprehensively beaten, despite the small-ish margins. The Crows, led by R.O'brien in the ruck really beat up on us, and they were generally more aggressive at the contest with Curtin a massive presence on the wing and of course big Filthorpe taking Lobb to the cleaners.

Our squad has changed a bit since then. There will be no JJ, Coffield, Dolan, Poukter, or Garcia. The backline looks more solid and dynamic with the inclusion of Buderick, Khamis, and Sellwood, the latter of the two who might find themselves matched on Fogarty at various stages.

Their team is missing the important pillar of Keane and Curtain on the wing, as well as R.O.B in the ruck. English's run and jump and big tank means he will be like an extra mod. Expect a big game and for him to set the tone.

The Crows lack a backman over 195cm where Darcy, and potentially Croft, might cause headaches. Throw in Naughty and Bont drifting down and there are many targets.

Still, if we don't come out breathing fire (as with any team these days) you may as well get back on the plane. Hopefully we "bring it" tonight.

Loved how we've worked harder to protect the corridor so far this year. Especially important against the Crows in Adelaide I reckon.

If they can move the ball into the 50 centrally with a choice of Thillthorpe, Walker, Fogarty, Rankine, Keays, Rachelle and Neal-Bullen to kick to, it's going to be a very stern test for our back 6.

No doubt in my mind that their forwards are stronger than our backs both individually and as a group. The game can be won however, if we play smart and just kill as many balls in the air as we can. It will be up to our midfield to not only dominate theirs but also to provide cover for the backs who will be under pressure. Looking forward to a great contest. Go Dogs.
