Whats Everyone's Thoughts on crows v eagles match in the comming week in Alice Springs.

Don't know, hope we win or perform better than we did tonight.

But if Port win tommorrow (and most expect they will) Judging by this (2009 NAB Challenge fixture) i beleive we will be playing the week after (7th of March) in Berri.

And then the week after we are on the road again. Hopefully the AFL see some sense and change it as we play away round 1.

It would be nice to see them play live this pre season.

How many weeks is it until round 1?

I'm thinking it would be nice if the Crows actually were to think about starting to show some semblemnce of some kind of form sometime soon.
yesterday 1 of the commentators in one of the 2 games said itwas 33 days. So it is 32 days today

I wish the AFL could change this game to AAMI Stadium.

Would love to see the Eagles live in the pre season and its a bit rough on Adelaide to travel to NT twice in 3 weeks but then again the AFL dont seem to care about the non vic teams that much.

The IAS game was ours to play by choice. Can hardly blame the AFL for that particular piece of scheduling. It would be akin to Hawthorn whinging about travelling the week after a Launceston game. They choose to play in Launceston and have to cop the consequences with regards to the rest of the schedule. The Hawks don't whinge about this and neither should we.

Win or lose, I would suggest the AFL would do everything in their power to schedule Hawthorn to play in Melbourne the week after but. That's the difference. They won yesterday and will play Carlton at the Dome on Friday night, but had they lost i would suggest they would have had one of the scheduled games at Visy Park.

If Port win today they will play at AAMI, and i would assume Sydney will play someone in Manuka Oval, Canberra, we play the coaster in Alice, and 2 games in the NAB Challange cup will be played at Visy Park.

I have no problem playing the IAS in Darwin as we elected to play that game, and i also have no problem playing away the first week of the NAB cup as we have to have our turn, but 3 weeks in a row. Now thats a bit much.

I do not have a problem travelling to Alice this week, however a Friday gamew makes it a very short week, I would of rather a Saturday night game.

Hopefully after this week the AFL will lighten our travelling requirements especially given the fact we are travelling in round 1 of the season proper

Although I want to see the us playing at aami, it is not a bad thing to travel this early on. With the possibilties of playing many kids in the upcoming weeks. It will give them valuable experience in learning the routine of preparing for games on the road. All players know what to expect when playing at home.

This week I would start the midfield with Ivan, Danger, Otten and Vince. Throw them into the deep end for a nothing game.

good post :thumbsu:

For this game I would really like to see Pat Dangerfield given every opportunity.

There seems to be an undercurrent of pressure on this kid, probably because Ebert, Rioli etc have played games. Lets get him out there and get this career started sooner rather than later.

Oops..forgot to add

The other thing I would like to see is Petrenko stationed across half forward with a licence to be a wrecking ball on opposition ball carriers out of their half back line. Set him a target of 8 tackles/turnovers a game.

I reckon he could cause some real havoc.

You dont know how to get to Berri???

Its quite good to be playing against a more lowly team this week. The All-Stars probably had more to play for as a team than us and in truth I take little from it. Then on Saturday, Geelong were just awesomely Geelong with a point to prove - a tough assignment for anyone let alone a team full of young kids learning a fresh game plan.

While there are no easy games, the Eagles are probably in a similar boat to us whereby they will be experimenting and blooding youngsters. Hopefully this pits 2 more even teams against each other giving our kids and new game plan a chance to come to the fore.

Mind you the Weagles will also be better prepared than they were against Collingwood 3 weeks ago and I would expect them to give a better showing.

I personally think playing the Challenge Cup games (or whatever they are called) can be more beneficial as the rules revert back to normal rather than the experimental ones.

Danger will play if:
1) He has taken Holy Communion at 7.30 am on Thursday morning from pastor Craig
2) Has read the bible 5 times
3) Has confessed all his sins of the past 10 years to pastor Craig.
4) Schedules weekly confessional's with pastor Craig while at the AFC.

FGS, why did'nt he play against the Cats. Have heard some suggest he is not quite fit enough, if that is the case how on earth could he have been picked to play in the Indigenous All Stars game.

Too much Fooey coming from pastor Craig at the minute.

Our first round pick in 07, has been likened to many current superstars (by people in Melbourne at his TAC club) and we see it fit not to play him...JOKE!!

If he is injured thats another story, however he has not been reported as such.

Why should he get a game over those who have the traingin effort behind them?

I want to see him as much as anyone but you can't deny someone else a chance to play a guy because he's fast and was taken with out first pick.

Agree players need to put in the training, however there are contradictions in the Crows actions:
1) The club knew he would concentrate on his studies in 2008
2) The Club put together a training regime whilst Danger was studying, which was going to be monitored by the club. If Danger isn't fit they should take some of the blame as they were suppose to monitor him.
3) The club plays him against the Dons and Saints in rounds 20 & 21 2008. If he wasn't at the fittness levels the club requires in Dec 08 /Jan 09 as Neil says how on earth could he have been fit for the games against the Dons and Saints.
4) And if he wasn't fit (excluding injury) for the game against the Cats why was he played in the IAS game.

So if we agree that players need to put in the training then Danger should not have played a game last year or this year based on what Neil is saying.

well more like 3 hrs north east :D

My friend made the mistake of going east and ended up in Bordertown.

Yeah North East, forgot that you have to go through Gawler first. Hit the Main North Road, head over the bridge at Trinity College and then head north/east for a few hours.

It's a long way via Murray Bridge. :D
