read through the thread, there are members that have called for NC to be sacked.

My point, some Aadelaide Bigfooty members are serial offenders in having a crack at NC no matter what and IMO these members make too many easy assumptions from behind the keyboard and should look at the big picture instead of these consistent knee jerk reactions.

OK fair enough. but one of those posters is a cretin, and the other is hot headed but knowledgable.

Last year, we had the Dangerfield crap at why we should not have drafted the lad, the club was at fault, this year Melb draft Watts, do I hear the Melb supporters up in arms that Watts will play limited games in 2009 due to year 12 studies.

I thought last year was one big love in for dangerfield.

Than there was the handling of Walker, looking at Walker now he looks like he has the body and confidence to play a full AFL season, all credit to NC for having the strength to deal with the short minded criticisms and stick to his plan to play Walker only when he believes he is right to go, the Cats have had the same approach with Hawkins.

this makes no sense. yes, walker looks good. but he also looked last year too, I am not sure whether there is any basis in reality for suggesting we have achieved a different outcome. for example, we played tippet all year even though there were periods when he was clearly in over his head - can we use those two players as opposite sides of the same coin? I don't think so.

if tippett stalls, will be saying he should have spent last year in the sanfl.

these things are not knowable, so we shouldn't be claiming victory off only one side of the coin.

This year again there is the Dangerfield issue, NC is closer to Danger then any of us, NC said he is concerned with Danger's level of fitness and knowledge of Adelaide's game style and who knows there may be other issues, however I have no issues with the coach demanding Danger to work his butt of for his spot and I again applaud NC for not bowing to player reputation or supporter expectations.

I have also applauded NC decision not to bow to sellar, meesen, pfeiffer or any of those other first round draft picks.

that said, NC has changed tact and given many conflicting opinions on danger. even gifting him games last year.

personally, I don't care if he plays right now or not. as long as we get it right, and don't blame someone else if it doesn't.

My final point If some of our supporters were running the Geelong FC they would of sacked Bomber Thompson at the end of 2006, Bomber had been at the club for 7 years and the Cats missed the final in a shocking year.

Congrats to the GFC for not bowing to supporter pressure to sack Bomber, the clubs faith was rewarded with a Premiership the following year.

that's not much of a point. who is to say they wouldn't have won in 2008 with a different coach? 2006, was their 2004.

Good to hear Sellar getting a shot in defence.

Maric and Griffin sound like they are getting nowhere near the best in the business...let's at least give Moran a shot. Really reckon Moran as a 2R/bench/forward will be overall better value than Griffin.

At this stage Griffin is like Matthew Clarke, but far worse (ie tap ruckman only but not as good as Clarke who was brilliant in the centre square)

Finally, finally I get to sit down and listen to this commentary! I'm not even sure how far into the game we are now, I imagine late 3rd quarter or early 4th quarter but I hear we're winning now!
