Last week’s performance was the continuation of a form trend, not an aberration. If we don’t reverse it, we’re in trouble and Hawks have the game style to blow us away. If we turn up and don’t continue panic bombing to contests forward, I reckon it’ll be a close game, 2 goals either way.

Its a new challenge and a new opponent. Hawks were only ok last week against the Giants. They took it too easy in the end and nearly blew it.

to the middle) we had to bring him into the middle/defensive part of the ground and shift Laird to the mids. Suddenly this dumb move is affecting multiple players.

Then on top of that he hamstrings himself with another dumb call to pick a defender as the sub, again probably because he couldn't bring himself to drop Smith even though from a structure standpoint it made no sense with the team he selected.

He fully got caught up in the moment and the theater of his first finals appearance

Messaging and team selection this week has been all about getting back to the basics of what worked for us this season. No experimental bullshit, just the exact team that won 18 games, fully fit and ready to go, in the exact structure. Minus Rankine.

Rachele in is a massive inclusion. Having an elite goal kicker up forward changes the makeup of the forward line and makes us more dangerous and harder to defend. We've missed that

All of that taken into account I expect us to win by 3-5 goals

It’s time for Soligo to step up and become the midfielder he was tracking to be. Been a disappointing year from Soligo, he’s plateaued when we’ve needed him to take the next step. Missing Rankine and with Dawson going to get attention, we need him to get 25 touches and use the ball cleverly like he can. If he does we can win.

Feel very flat going into tonight...it is like our season ended straight after the Pies game...media pile on hasn't helped (will only get worse after tonight). End to the season does crystalise the need to recruit a ready to go outside mid and another key forward (to slowly replace Tex), which I guess is a good thing (we certainly wont be overestimating our squad if we go in straight sets).
