The only match ups I didn't want in finals were Collingwood week 1, Hawthorn week 2.

Hard to feel any confidence. All I heard for 2 weeks before the QF was how "Collingwood only got near us because they got 71 inside 50s, we won't let them do that again."

We're good enough to win. Are we good enough to bring our good enough though? I know Hawthorn are and will.

Geez I’m nervous about this one. Need at least one finals win this year to give the lads some confidence going into this summer (three more wins would be good, too)

Crows by 21

5aa were discussing how Keays and Rachele work really well together.

Keays has been down on performance lately, which coincides with Rachele being out injured.

Kaeys to have a big game tonight?

I will just state this very clearly...I am not getting up at 2:30 am on a work night to watch a loss.
Crows take care of business and win going away.
All of you going to game must remain loud enough to keep me awake. 😜
Mate, I hope our blokes make it worth your sleep deprivation 🥱🤞🤞.
Personally, I want the Crows to thrash the Hawks in a blow-out to send a message to Geelong that last week's loss was an aberration we won't be repeating against them at the MCG
AND
that we earned finishing top.

(Unfortunately, my gut feeling is that we'll go out in straight sets :grimacing:)

Would be a breakthrough win for us as a club

So important that our younger guys in particular have some positive finals moments to carry forward

We don't want them carrying around the same scars and baggage as our older players (and fans)

While Hawthorn aren’t the ideal match, they’re not Collingwood in terms of unbeatable (from Crows point of view). We beat them here a few weeks ago after giving up a 6 goal head start and ran over the top, we would’ve have beaten them in Tasmania if not for 40 km/h wind with our forwards kicking 0.9. We beat them in Tassie a few years ago in a close one.

We got first finals jitters out of the way. We’re now underdogs from media’s point of view which should allow us to play more free. We’ll get more space than Collingwood and should be less exposed in the midfield. Our forwards and defence should should both win their battles.

Worried about the umpires, but the Raynor media attention should help minimize the amount of soft frees they seem to love to pick out.

Beyond my desire for a Crows win, I consider the following:

I don't want the Crows to be the first side in over 40 years to finish 1st and go out in straight sets.

Additionally, I don't want Hawthorn or their supporters to feel joy.

Finally, I don't want the AFL to get their preferred Preliminary final match up.

Keays was our second-best vs. NM, with 3.2! That was an up. He was down against Collingwood, but so were 2/3 of the side.

It feels like they've been using Peatling to cover Rankine up forward a bit too, so hopefully if he spends more time around the ball he can have a bigger impact.

We didnt let them do that again. And got flogged.
Im a bit flat too, expecting a loss, hoping for a win.

We panic bombed instantly last week

Worrell, Berry, Laird in particular early but everyone overall. Pressure got to us and impacted our decision making

Need to use the ball constructively or we lose

We aren't going out

I'm guessing Ginnivan will get booed for some reason. Good way to ensure he plays well.

Bloke plays his best when he's being hated and getting a reaction. He thrives on it. Silence would be more annoying for him.
