I think Roo needs to find some touch at Westies this weekend.

Not at all. He was used sparingly in the game. What touches he did get were mostly effective.

Has been unlucky with 2 heavy knock 2 weeks in a row ... but the (small) time he has spent on the ball he has been effective & given us some grunt.

Your suggestion of him getting some match fitness with Westies isn't a bad one though. Are we able to do this in the week off?

I think you are being a bit harsh there mate. Roo is getting better and better each week.

Those two 50 metre passes didn't look like he was out of sorts to me.

He really surprised me with the several really good possessions he had. Still, not the level of performance we are used to from the great man. I bet he's LOVING being back though!

Yeah, quality with the few possessions he had.

We will be a much better team when he starts finding much more of the ball.

Roo is still a great player, but some of us of us just need reminding given his long break from the game.

I have a feeling we are not allowed to do this but I could be wrong.. if he did play then he is effectively playing two games in the one (AFL) round. Surely that's illegal. Anyway, when he did get the ball he looked good, I'm happy to keep the legend out on the ground.

Fairly sure that anyone who plays for their AFL team the week before the split round rest (ie. the 22 who played against North Melbourne) are not allowed to play in the SANFL this week.

Players outside the 22 who faced North have no such restrictions.

I dont think playing two games in the one round is illegal in itself. Maric did it last year against Freo IIRC.

Yes there are exceptions I guess, it even happened this year with a Vic-based player playing VFL and then AFL in Adelaide the next day, may have been a Hawthorn player but I'm not sure.

Yes that happened recently I believe as my above post says. That is a totally different situation as he is going up rather than down.

No, it was later in the season when he played against Freo at AAMI after playing in the SANFL.

If hed played SANFL the week of his debut it would have been interesting. Playing both for Port and against Port....

Oh wait, Tredrea's been doing that every week this year
