Crows v Melbourne

There's usually quite a few Crows fans in the general admission area on level 1 in the Olympic Stand. Thats around near the interchange bench and I think the goals at the Punt Rd end.

Cheers

I might just buy a ticket on the day, I gather I can sit anywhere then?

The general admission areas differ for each Club, but I'm sure VC would probably know exactly where they are for a Melbourne game.

From memory, there's a fair chunk on level 1 available and then level 3 is also general admission. You shouldn't have any troubles with buying a ticket at the gate.

When I went over for the Melbourne game (debacle) in 2007, we got GA seats on level 2 of the Ponsford stand. Sat there again for the Richmond game last year. Ponsford stand is normally Crow friendly (except for Collingwood games of course).

On a slightly side note, I'm in the same boat for the Essendon game (travelling by myself) - so where would be the best Crow friendly spots at Etihad?

I think the Melbourne Cheer Squad normally take the Southern Stand end at the MCG, so the Adelaide group would be the Ponsford Stand end.

You'll easily be able to get tickets on the day. I'd personally be avoiding the Southern Stand if it's sunny, because you'll be looking straight into the setting sun for the first quarter. The Ponsford stand will probably be my choice for this game, but the bottom (level 1) of the Olympic stand isn't a bad spot either. There'll be certain areas roped off for Melbourne priority seat holders, and the MCG members and AFL members are obviously not GA either.

If you are a Footy Park member (as opposed to a Crows season ticket holder), you've got reciprocal rights for the AFL members reserve at the G.

Depends on how much you want to pay. Prices vary by level, so general admission is up the top. Essendon games have a different ticketing arrangement, but for various reasons (like not having played them here between 2002-07, and a few freebies) I haven't bought a ticket for a game against them in ages, so I can't really tell you more than that.

If you want a really good seat for the Essendon game, contact mgilbert@scevents.com.au from Successful Corporate Events.

They have a handful of seats, for $30 each, on level 1 pretty much smack bang in the centre of the ground near the benches. With your ticket you also get access to the AFL Premiership Club, which I think is just some fancy dancy bar area or something.

Most supporters in that area will most likely be Bomber fans but there us usually always a smattering of Crows supporters.

There'll be seats everywhere against the Dee's. Crowd will be tiny considering the timing of the game.

I think the best thing to do against the Bombers is either book really early or stand. Bombers games have a lot of the seats already gone for their season ticketholders so for the general admin. your right up back. For mine standing is the way to go, get what ever position on the ground you like.

Well I might be over for the match (what a stupid time); I’ll be by myself so I would love to sit near some Crows fans. What areas do Vic Crow fans sit in or maybe even the supporter group?
We're playing Melbourne so we'll have the majority ;)

Haha I used to sit in the Southern, but now in the Olympic Stand, at the 50 of the Punt road end.

Enjoy lovely Melbourne ;)

The Premiership Club is a bit of aw wank fest but good if you don't want dirty Carlton Mid.

I'm off for the Melbourne game as well, very cheap flights & accommodation all helps.

We plan to buy tickets at the gate.......anyone able to advise which gate/s to buy either Ponsford Stand or Olympic Stand seats.

Any help very much appreciated. :thumbsu:

Olympic Stand - Gates 3 & 4
Ponsford Stand - Gate 1

Hope for the OP its not like last season when I watched crows/collingwood at the G.

Tons and tons of empty seats to choose from, but nope, was forced to sit in some shite area with not a crows fan in sight. I didn't care about the cost, but every alternative I suggested, there was a reason why I couldn't sit there, although there were gazillion empty seats. Will never buy a walk up ticket again...at least not for a collingwood match.

Had to put up with some fat ugly half-toothed cow screeching bullshite all friggin game long.

That sounds rather unfortunate. Although, you would've been able to sit on level 1 in the Olympic Stand, I can't see why you wouldn't have been able to. Those are great seats there :thumbsu:

I buy walk up every game in Melbourne, I seem to be fine. Must have been bad luck.

Where you sit against the Pies?

TBH I don't remember what the area was ...numbered, have no idea which 'stand' but it was 'ground' level, (which i needed so my elderly mother could easily negotiate/navigate)

There was an entrance gate right behind us and there were chunks of ice blowing in. Have only once before been so miserably cold.

It seemed like last resort/only ground level seating available.

Half-toothed Bessy did not shut her fat piehole for the entire match. :D

Area was filthy and seating had strange dog-leg aisles.

We were plonked where the aisle 'turned', so that the walkway was where our legs stuck out - thought it was a bonus that we had all that leg room...until, all game long, traffic back an forth.

It was a total disaster on and off the field. Never again.

BUT...Earlier last season saw Crows/richmond with pre-booked tickets, LUXURY! sensational position. Great bar/cafe/dunnies...first level up from ground. Asked for approx same seats for collingwood...but no! Although there were Zillions of them empty, we got the peanut section. Why unable to sit there I dont know.

I usually sit on level 2, behind the goals in the Southern Stand. Nice comfortable cushioned comfort and a great view, it's a dream!

And btw, footy4ever, your avatar is bloody hypnotising....but I guess that's the point.

Ha ha, the Avatar. New today and its nearly put me to sleep a couple of times.

Yeah those seats for the Richmond game I mentioned were superb. I have them written down somewhere and will always try to get near them each time I book.

Can't wait! If we dont win pn saturday will be the first match I attend seeing Crows win!

If you buy at the gate, surely the ticket people will know which end is the "Crow end" and just ask for seats around that end?
