Well I just whatched a great game of football. Never more than 2 goals in it except for about 3 minutes and both teams gave it everything.

A major win for the Crows in Melbourne against one of this years big guns so far. I don't think Richmond will lay down after that either.

GO CROWS

Wow that was a fast post.

bad luck Tigers, the injuries really cost them in the end. Edwards, Riccutio and co killed them for the match when Knights, Campbell and King were lost.

I guess for my own sake, I'm glad Richmond lost because it gives Geelong a chance to leap frog them on Sunday, having said that, the bulldogs are in the same boat.

Yeah. Hawthorn should have a look at the crows last ten minutes. Losing to the tiges cost us BIG.

As a Tigers supporter I have to say I was slightly disappointed in the result, but as a football lover I have to say the Tigers/Crows game was one of the best so far this year for skill, determination and "never say die" attitude from BOTH teams. If this game was a Final, they would be talking about it for decades to come.

After the 'worst weekend ever' for interstate teams they cmae out an kicked ...., Even sydney, Freo and Port got in on the act.

I'd have to say that out of the I/S sides, forget Brisbane and The Weagles. Adelaide are the team to watch. Perhaps If Essendon were due to play them at footy park there might be a smell of someone to defeat them.

Incidentally, I looked at the Past Results -Richmond v Adelaide. They haven't played eac other twice a year in the past five years. If they could fix that sort of thing in the draw everyone would be a lot happier, never mind conferences, 15/30 round seasons etc.

So Pess you like Geelongs idea of everybody playing each other twice every 3 years in a 24 round H&A season ?

I think it is a most sensible suggestion as it makes the draw fairer for everyone but does not expose clubs and players to an overly long and gruelling 30 round H&A.

I think a system which STRICTLY had teams playing all others a similar number of times over (say) 3 years is an important first step. I have a system I have made up which does this. It does, however allow for blockbuster/derby teams to play twice every year, which I think will have to be accommodated to have a realistic chance of being adopted.

Put simply the league is divided into four groups of four. these groups are kept for a three year cycle. Each year the groups are joined with the others in rotation. Ech year the teasm within the group of eight pay each other twice (14 games) and the teams in the other group once (8games)

It produces a rotation where games between clubs are equal over a three year period EXEPT each theam plats the other three teams in it's group of four twice every year.

You put Carlton Collingwood Essendon Richmond in one group and the other three groups have two VIC, two interstate teams in each group. WCE/Freo Adel/PtA and Bris/ Syd are placed in the same groups as each other.

The groups are re-jigged after three years to reflect the competitivness of the group

-It would stop the AFL using the draw to punish/reward teams. This is totally unacceptable in my view

- Similar number of interstate trips for VIC clubs and vice versa. Sydney and Brisbane would benefit from more games with melbourne fans. Clubs like Hawthorn, St Kilda and North would get the rough end of the Pineapple less often.

-It would be hard to accommodate things like Eddies proposal to only play collingwood games in sydney but that's no great loss

Pess, What a brilliant proposal.

It sounds perfect. I am surprised I haven't heard of it before. I cant see any genuine complaint about it. The only gripes would be the self serving Eddie type requests. But for the future equity of the AFL it sounds excellent.

I would definately support it.
