Do we not do Face offs any more? Apologies and pls merge if we do.
This game is make or break. Time to stake our claim.
St Kilda have carried all before them so far with the addition of Ratten to the coaches' box, but I'm not convinced just yet.
Conversely the crows had their confidence dented in Rnd 1 by perennial bogey club Hawthorn and have been slow to recover, including an insipid surrender to cellar dwellers Hobart, I mean still North Melbourne, at the same venue as this weekend's clash.
I feel on paper we are better than our current 12th place, but we finished 12th last year so I could be delusional.
The media scribes were already piling on before last week's game... all quiet on the eastern front for the time being though.
All noise aside, one thing is certain. Win this and we are back on an even keel with some winnable games to come.
St Kilda have found form playing fast footy. In contrast, the crows have been stuttering. Until last week that is.
With our backs against the wall against an in form gold coast we went back to our roots. We played on. We played fast. We played direct. We won.
My main concern is that I hope we don't look at the Saint's fast game and decide to try to slow the game down. For mine that is our unnatural game and gives us time to panic and make back decisions. Our Achilles' heel.
Come on Pykey. Give the boys free licence to play our fast trademark game. Let's have a shoot out. Get down on the bench again and let's ride the wave.
Milera out is not ideal after Seedsman too, but Geary is a big loss for the oppo.
Come at them with win-at-all-costs pressure and keep our scores from turnover back up at the level like last week. Put some scoreboard pressure on their young list and we will have every opportunity to forge a season building win.
Above all, don't fluff it at selection. The Jenkinless forward line was an unqualified success.
Give em hell Adelaide!
