I swear our players have no vision. Sometimes when they are out in space they will handball their way into congestion for an inevitable turn over. It's infuriating.

I think they are either coached to do it or just plain dumb. Seedsman one of the worst culprits. Does some good stuff but brings it undone with stupid handballs.

Can someone explain to me how a team goes into a game against West Coast playing only 1 tall defender?

You can put in all you effort you want, but if the club are making shit decisions at the selection table then you're going to be behind the 8 ball before the ball is even bounced.

Rarely I will say lost at selection, but this game was.

That 15 minute period where WCE exposed our lack of a second KPD and Doedee unable to play loose killed our momentum.


When Doedee had Hartigan and Talia he would play off his man and create a defensive double team against a guy like Darling.

Throwing him into KPD takes that away.


Second half moving Kelly ,(lol) onto Darling allowed Doedee to play his role. Darling's goals dried up.


But the ship had sailed.



First quarter was brilliant. Second until WCE could isolate Darling was pretty good too. Game was on our terms.


Then it went to shit. Clawed back a bit in second half, but WCE cruised a bit.

For such a young and inexperienced team that was a bloody good effort away from home and one of the hardest road trips. No longer are we getting blown away.

Just happy not to get blown away in the West.

The way I see it, time and space should be enough for an AFL player to kick the ball effectively. We seem to be coached to rush the ball forward by hand at all costs with no regard for whether or not it's suitable to the situation at hand. What it tells me is our coaches have no faith in the sides foot skills.

West Coast far to good. Their midfield gets it to the outside so quickly and effectively. They were a lot cleaner and know how to posses and control the balls. We looked inexperienced against them - the endeavor was defintely there against them today though. Umpires least worst performance in our games for the last month - but definitely wasn't good though. Some good signs of improvement from younger players which is positive. Our midfield still far to thin.

I would have taken a 5 goal loss at the start of the weekend

I like the move of Jones to HB and youngsters like Berry, Schol, Schoenberg continue to grow with each game

Our forward line was more productive than it has been in recent weeks

Only one midfielder was poor today....ROB, no way he'll ever beat Nic Nat that said. The difference was the way Nic Nat delivered it to especially Tim Kelly on the move wide of the contest just makes delivery into their forward line so clean. I daresay our mids delivery would be incrementally better with Nic Nat feeding them

I'd want to see McAsey show what Chayce was showing in the SANFL (big improvement) before I'd play him in the AFL. Worrell is the one that should be coming in not McAsey or Murray although if I had to pick between Murray and McAsey at this point Murray it is.
