watching him land on that left leg after a couple of those high marks gives me serious palpitations. i can't remember which ACL he injured but it was only a few matches later in early 2013.

Has he changed his landing technique since then? Some of those attempts seemed a bit reckless.

Time to become a real deal team today.
Failed against first decent team away vs GC.
Decent chance to go 7-2 into the Pies game if we win today and be sitting top 2.

Lose and we entrench ourselves in the 6-8 pack.
Agree. Sounds like we are on the same wave length

Ok let’s get the juices flowing.
Turn back the clock you legend.

How good would it be when AI can generate a game and show us Rehn palming it down to Mcleod/Roo who hits Tex on the chest.

what did he change?
Someone changed our game plan last week.

1) we manned up in the corridor which forced GWS to either take bigger risks or kick it down the line.

2) we took less risks running the ball through the corridor.

This was very, very different to the Geelong match. Sadly these tactics plus the sh** weather turned the game into a slog.

Would be pleasantly surprised if we win. Never play great against Freo for some reason, and playing over there (after a week of them having the Perth media spotlight) I think it will be tough. Freo by 13 points..

Freo always have a home match on the Anzac Round. They makes big deal of it and do it very well.

They have won 6 of the last 7 matches on the Anzac Round.

Coincidence?

In recent years they have been playing the Bulldogs who probably decided they didn’t enjoy the new “tradition”.

A lovely day here today. Will be a tough game, they (Fremantle) are so utterly predictable and tend to have a bounce back game at home after a “bad” away loss.

You (AFC) are tracking pretty well, an upset away win would be huge. Home ground factor might win out (as it would if you were hosting them) but am hoping it will be a good game at the least and you get em :p

Tex has trouble with him and Balta. Perhaps Tex is a decoy, lead him up the ground so TT and Rachele can work together? If Pearce goes to TT then Tex should be able to get hold of Cox and/or Draper.
I'd like to see TT (under marking pressure) tap the ball down to Rankine or Rachele running past for an easy goal :D. A few times, in fact, and TT is smart enough to do that.
OPTUS (I hate stadiums with sponsor names) stadium ...
Same. I think of it as the WACA2.0 :sneaky:.

... is a bit like the MCG so I think it suits us somewhat, especially players like Keays, Rachele, Rankine, Cumming, Draper can use their leg speed/hard running to stretch the ground.
Dawson, Soligo, Hinge, Peatling and even Nankervis are hard-running, also.
Serong and Brayshaw are their engine and best suppliers but I think our run and overlap will be decisive.
In 2024 we were in the depths of our 0-4 Zombieball strategy.
'Zombieball', ha, perfect/apt --- stumbling and bumbling around like the walking dead.

Should be good, Crows win if we kick straight.
Aren't we the #1 or #2 side for goalkicking accuracy this year?

Yes, we are 0 - 2 vs Freo at Perth Stadium, but only Crouch and Tex were involved in both those losses.

First time was in 2018 - Crouch, Tex and Milera from tonight's team played in that game.

From the R4 game last year:

Outs:
Borlase
Burgess
Fogarty
Jones
McHenry
Murphy
Pedlar
Smith

Ins
Cumming
Curtin
Dawson
Peatling
Draper
Murray
Neal-Bullen
Taylor

That's a seriously stronger team.
