There were some positives.

I thought a few of the first year players showed a bit. Berry, Whitlock, Barrett, Moraes, Lai all showed some nice stuff.

Luko was okay, not sure what people were expecting, he has never been a contested marking key forward. His nice long goal is what we need though. He probably should’ve had a couple more.

I'm not expecting much from Luko from observing his career at some distance. But gees you'd think he might show a bit more desire to present & win the ball. The last thing we need is another laconic tall forward. I'm so over these types of players. Get paid big bucks on long contracts & all they deliver is mediocrity.

At least it looks like we got some decent players in the draft from trading Houston unlike Burgoyne. Berry, Whitlock and Moraes > butcher, Moore and pittard.

And yes I know there were other trades and picks involved but essentially we don’t get that draft haul without Houston leaving.

I still think we looked reasonably stacked in half back flankers too. I think Jones has huge potential if he gets his confidence up.

The jury's out but wow, can we please demonstrate some system other than a series of short risky kicks to transition down the field & then turn it over in the F50 coz we have no decent tall targets.

I don't think it's a deliberate thing it's just who he is you could say the same about Westhoff & Todd.

We gained a first rounder which we used on Berry but we traded one out for Lukosius. We need both Berry and Lukosius to turn into guns for the rest of their career just to break even, let alone win.

And that’s been their gameplan for quite some time now under Nicks. We rarely seem to match them in intensity , is why they cut us up more often than not. Their style of play will hold up well in finals, if they get there that is.

Lol, this is exactly the player he is. He's not going to become a whole new player overnight.
