Yeah, I used Binance.

Got shafted a bit because I had to buy ETH from BTCMarkets and then use the ETH to buy IOTA on Binance and the rates for ETH on BTCMarkets was quite pricey relative to Binance, so I lost a bit in the process. I didn't realise until after I had bought the IOTA coins though.

Give changelly a go.

Used Changelly for the first time last night and it was A+ for me.

Wanted to grab a few Stellar Lumens, but most the exchanges they’re on looked dodgy as **** and I couldnt be bothered going to through the whole verification again for another site (I’ve alrdy done so for a few). So I just purchased some Litecoin on Coinbase, opened up an XLM wallet and used Changelly. The sign up and change process took about 5 minutes, and my XLM was in the wallet within 10. Definitely recommend.

Really keen in getting into cryptocurrency in the past month, wanted to have a look into Bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin at the moment, by the time I've been verified I purchased bitcoin first at 25k!

Not feeling good at the moment as I really tried to buy into it and not doing me much confidence.

Just hold it mate... :)

One thing though i feel like the Bitcoin boat has sailed. Not going anywhere near it. The 3 month chart is ridiculous and theres only 1 way it can go from there.

I thought that when it got to $1,000. I finally bit the bullet at $7,000 AUD about a month back and I'm glad I did.

Some of the bitcoin "experts" have said they wouldn't be surprised if it went 100k or even into the millions per coin.

For it to reach 1 million someone has to be buying it at that price and it just seems far fetched. As far as i can tell bitcoin is not being used as a currency and right now this is all high risk high reward trading. That can only last so long. If there is any truth to the rumour that big whales are pumping then dumping bitcoin there will be a time when they completely wipe their hands clean and bitcoin will fall back to its true value?

My interest in cryptocurrency is to try and achieve what early bitcoin buyers did - get many at sub $5 mark and sit on it for several years. Even if bitcoin got to $100k a new buyer now is getting 4x profit for their 20k investment. With the bit of cash i have thats not going to be life changing. But if i spend $200-$500 on a crytpo sub $5 and a similar price surge to the one Bitcoin is having occurs, then i could be rolling in it like scrooge mcduck.

Very unlikely to 1) have a similar crypto price surge and 2) correctly pick the right one if it indeed happens again but this spare money floating around has more potential in these new age cryptos than in my Sportsbet account :)

How did you get the coins out of Coinbase?

When you pay on Changelly you select what coin you want to pay with, and what coin you want to buy (and what wallet address to send it to). So for example you want to buy xx amount of XLM with 1 Litecoin.

So when the process is complete and you have to pay your bill Changelly gives you an address to send your one 1 Litecoin to, and it once payment is received the XLM will go to your nominated wallet.

So you don’t even have to take your coin out of Coinbase into another medium, just pay directly from Coinbase by sending it to the billing address it gives you.

I’m definitely a long term believer in XRP and HODLing it, however the more I check out Stellar Lumens the more I get the feeling it’s price is going to shoot up soon while XRP holds firm.

Considering moving my XRP stash into XLM for a while, and then back into XRP post-gains.

Anyone got any opinions as equally unqualified as mine on that? :)

Ethereum breaking through the $700 mark. And to think it was worth $10 at the start of the year

Stupid question - if i wanted to invest in something like Ethereum, but only had $200, is it possible to buy percentage of 1 Ethereum?

LOL, yes. Likewise for bitcoin - a bitcoin is divisible down to 8 decimal places, so you can buy fractions of a bitcoin.

A bitcoin is currently valued at over $22,000 AUD. At this point, if the only way to invest in bitcoin was to buy entire bitcoins, then the price would not continue to climb because very, very few people could afford to invest in it. What you need to get your head around is the units of measurement that are used for a bitcoin. To start with, just understand satoshis. In the same way that a dollar can be broken down into 100 cents, a bitcoin can be broken down into a 100 million satoshi.

100 cents = 1 dollar

100,000,000 satoshi = 1 bitcoin

This is important to understand because as the value of bitcoin continues to rise against the value of fiat currency, Nobody will be buying, selling, or making transactions with entire bitcoins, they will be using millibitcoins or satoshis.

The general unit structure of bitcoins has 1 bitcoin (BTC) equivalent to 1,000 millibitcoins (mBTC), 1,000,000 microbitcoins (μBTC), or 100,000,000 satoshis.

Litecoin and Populous made a massive jump today. Last night before bed was i strongly considering ulling the trigger but may have to have wait and see whete it goes.

Perhaps just invest a few hundred into Bitcoin and pick a few other currencies that you like the look of? Sounds like that's what most of us on here are doing. I'm in Bitcoin, IOTA and Ripple.

I actually bought Bitcoin years ago when they were a few dollars each - I'd be a millionaire if I held them. Please let me know where I can get some time crystals.

Ripples a great coin. Frustrating not seeing big gains quickly like other coins but honestly the tech and team are excellent. Good long term choice with little risk compared to other coins.

Hey mate, very novice here when it comes to this whole digital currency.. If I wanted to get my hands on Ripple how would I go about it? Cheers :thumbsu:
