Crypto advice for an absolute beginner?

I’ve focused on saving for a house for the last 5 years, now that I have that I’m turning my attention to making the rest of my money work for me. I have money in ETFs for the passive income, so feel like I can diversify into crypto.

Is the altcoin game just about luck and guessing? I think I’ll avoid it because I don’t love it enough to do the hard work. I’m just interested in how people choose what to invest in.

Is there any point in waiting to see if Bitcoin drops or do you just buy now, accept any potential losses in the short term with the view it’ll keep climbing long term anyway?

And no, I’m not getting all my financial advice from BigFooty. :D

1. Learn technical analysis or you'll get killed trading alts. You'll probably be tempted to trade alts at some stage.
2. Don't get attached to any coin, especially not an alt.
3. The usual bear market correction is 85% for bitcoin and 97% for altcoins. The market will correct heavily at some point.
4. Dollar cost average your buy ins. If you feel tempted to go all in, it's probably a signal that the market is about to dump.
5. Buy a small amount now so you have skin in the game.
6. Dont buy because of FOMO.
7. BTC goes through bubble cycles due to halving rewards. Try to learn the cycles and reasons behind the bubbles. There will be more.
8. If you don't understand bitcoin and lack the patience to hold an investment for years, you'll probably lose money.
9. If you make paper profits, sell some on the way up.

Best way to learn technical analysis? I watch plenty of YouTube and hear fibonaci etc but don't understand how they figure out the levels etc and where the different resistances are likely to be.

Sold my CAKE for 16,90€ after buying at 1,59€. Was probably a bit too cautious with my stop limit - should have let it run down a bit further. Hovering around the 15€ mark now. Don’t think I’ll buy back in as much as it hurts me. Move on

TRX is actually gaining some good ground of late. Anyone game to jump on?

Also jumped on GRT. I like the sound of this. Reads like it’s a google for crypto

Try these for starters. They're free.

Rebought a bag of TRX the other day. Justin knows better than most how to pump his shitcoin, and one token is cheap. It will pump hard at some stage.

Also got bags of LTC and KAVA.

Next pivot points of resistance for BTC are at 57k and 63k. Fingers crossed we get a mini shitcoin season at 63k before BTC goes to 100k.

10. If there is a guy at work that you know is into crypto, and you've just entered the market, DO NOT go talk to him about it - he'll likely take it as a sell-signal and could dump his bags too early.
