Now it says "binance chain network" and it's got 0.00 bnb and "send" button and "receive" button and an account that says 0 and it's got a code in brackets. is that what I'm supposed to be keeping a record of? It asked me to set a password and then something else came up, and I clicked another browser and then when I revisited it changed to bn network.

edit - I'm guessing I click receive, then there's a qr code and a written code, and i can use that to transfer bnb to my binance wallet and then use that to try and get some of those tokens

You want to hit recieve, copy that long address, something like 0x56flsgjn673jmmm yadda yadda. And you paste that in your coinspot as the withdrawal(or Send To) address.

I wouldnt take a photo fo the seedphrase, write it down and store it somewhere off-digital so there's no way it can be hacked... But don't lose it.

By seed phrase he means that string of random words you should have seen. Means you can login via other apps on your phone and such

shit, I feared as much, that's what I missed. maybe i can do it again and write it down.

edit - or i could just delete the extension and reinstall, i haven't transferred anything so i won't lose anything

Not sure whether you can hunt around in the settings to get it back, but if you can’t you’ll want to make a new one, there’s no way to retrieve access to those funds without it if anything happens

No, it just has a qr code, the number/letter code, and a menu that you can click that lets you chose between "binance smart chain network" "binance network" and "ethereum network"

Ive never used the binance trust wallet. Should be something to click like 'receive funds/token' or 'deposit' then an address to copy. Binance smart chain network is good. Then on the account you are sending from, it should ask for withdrawal address and that's where you paste the address you've copied from trust wallet.

ah, i have it set at smart chain, i think my mistake was my network setting on coinspot was bep2 and not bep20 bsc smart chain

yeah I'm actually considering switching binance receiver to binance chain network (unless there's a good reason not to) because the minimum withdrawal rate on coinspot is lower 0.035bnb compared to smart chain (0.1). I'm trying to be conservative with my investments for now.

I believe smart chain is the correct token type for pancakeswap.

Okay, I bought more BNB, enough to get to 0.1, the withdrawal code starts with 'bnb' does that have to be pasted into the code? don't want to make any mistakes and lose my money.

Yeah, these transfer wallet things make me paranoid. I think if I can't get it directly on coinspot I might just leave it.

What platform did you use to buy it? And what wallet are you using? I've only been buying cryptos on swyftx exchange so these wallets and defi exchanges are still confusing for me.

You can buy on gate.io which is a centralised exchange. Make an account, transfer USDT from swyftx, and buy.

Make accounts on binance and kucoin while you're at it.

I did the exact same thing yesterday. About $300 worth. Chalked it up to a learning experience. If you don’t know what you’re doing (and I don’t) just stick with the simple buy and sell websites. Don’t go chasing dogs.
