well my sleeping pattern is all out of whack right now and ive just woken up to see that there are bargains galore with the exception of Ripple, Cardano and Stellar.

Still waiting for my AU deposit to go through on BTCmarkets unfortnately. Reckon im going to make a rule for myself that i always have 5% of my portfolio set aside in either Tether or AU just so i have purchasing power when everything is on sale. And it seems like these sales are weekly!

Also not surprised to wake up and see so much FUD surrounding XRP. Will need to constantly remind myself that this is going to be an ongoing thing for the year ahead and just put my money on altcoins that i believe to have a good future and stuff the haters.

Most people are recommending holding a large percentage of the "Big Two", Bitcoin and Ethereum. I personally think 2017 was their year, and it's time for the new generation of cryptos to break out.

My entire portfolio is in alts, however I don't think we can call Ripple an alt coin anymore. In that case, I've got about 1/3 of my portfolio in Ripple and 2/3 in alts. I've done a fair bit of research and I'm confident they'll do well. There's some gold to be found in those small cap coins, with a market cap under 500 million.

im the same. Although i think Ethereum has a slightly better year ahead than Bitcoin. I think a few people feel emotionally attached to Bitcoin and hope more than believe that it will bounce back and soar past 20k again. That youtube channel altcoinbuzz has that regular speaker Jeff and he seems emotionally attached to it. Not a good place to be in such a volatile market.

I have a lot of faith in Ripple being a commonly used crypto down the track, and a large portion of my portfolio is now in Ripple. But if news comes out that is disastrous for his value then ill drop it like a stone.

Anyway about 50 billion taken off the marketcap tonight. I want to buy!!! Friggin BTCmarkets. Imagine how high the overall marketcap will go when these exchanges start getting through their backlog of new investors that are waiting to join... Probably a good chance that the overall marketcap will double in 2018.

Welp Im off the exchange and into the wallet. Def a long term hodl on XRP.

I hate this 20 coin reserve though. Basically losing 40 coins moving it around. Hopefully come sale time they have lifted that!!

Wow. Mcaffee is the prick we all knew him to be. Money hungry campaigner. **** off from our crypto community

Thinj tweet was deleted cant load. What was it?

XRP finally falling off a cliff and having the inevitable correction. Now to see where the floor is and rebound from there.

A quick reminder do not sell when the price dips, instead you should be buying more.

Mine is now safely in a wallet where I can't bloody touch it. Long term HODL for this bad-boy.

Can you make copies of your coins, as in backups? I don’t trust (yet) a device like the ledger nano not corrupting the data over time. Is it reliable?

Just reading a few pieces on Ripple:
Buyer beware.Per source at one of the major banks regarding ripple.
I know of no banks that are (A) using it or (B) wouldn't touch it in anyway as it is controlled by a Silicon Valley company and 20% of XRP in existence were taken by the founders.

The product that Ripple are offering
to banks is simply a point-to-point messaging tool with some smart cryptography underneath to ensure their transactions are atomic.
The liquidity model is the as the correspondent banking.

That's garbage, I didn't realise we were stooping to posting every bit of crap people spout on Twitter verbatim without doing our own research.

Oddly enough your timing is perfect, a few hours ago Bank of England announced they were planning their own crypto which most likely utilises XRP. Also here's a list of banks Ripple has partnered with, though admittedly this 100+ list of banks is outdated, it's probably triple that now. See if you can spot any banks you know out of the lineup below that have openly said they're working with Ripple:

Can Ledger Nano support Erc20 tokens?
I am struggling to find one wallet that can store all my coins, at this rate im needing 5-6 different wallet types

Sure can. If there isn't a wallet on the Ledger itself, you can use MyEtherWallet and move them there.

Verge is making a few rumblings on Binance. Might be set for a surge ahead of the Wraith announcement.....if it happens.

What are people's thoughts on REQ and AION?

I take a narrow deep approach to crypto, focusing only on XRP and BTC news so I've never heard of these two coins. My post from Friday regarding investment criteria if I was speculating would be as follows:

Don’t invest in any altcoin that has:
*No real use case
*Infrequent GitHub commits
*Nonsense in their website/whitepaper
*No community
*No dev team, devs/founders who are hostile/insulting.

That weeds out most of them. The rest you can buy some amount you are willing to lose.

Yes. It has a bunch of coins that it natively supports, but any ERC20 token that it doesn't natively support can be stored on your Ledger via the website MyEtherWallet (MEW). There are some coins you have to manually add to MyEtherWallet if you want to store them on there, because they're not recognised/supported automatically. It sounds like complicated sh*t but it's easy once you've got the hang of everything and you know what you're doing.
