Interesting to look through some of the older posts here. I wonder what the price was in July 2020.

Thanks for taking over the title of ‘most pessimistic’ and ‘most bearish’ from me, it’s nice to concede them after 12 months.

What first world stock markets have completely collapsed, never to return?

Also I’m not saying crypto in its current form has value, so I agree with you on that one. A lot of coins are a solution looking for a problem, and a lot of coins will be rendered obsolete if they haven’t already. I feel the next generation of crypto is where the real value is, so having a broad exposure rather than single coins is probably the best strategy.
A number of them collapsed during the war. And why would you just constrain analysis to first world stock markets anyway?

what makes crypto so special that its only comparable to first world stock markets?

Large market caps = 1st world. Mid caps = 2nd world. Small/micro caps = 3rd world.

For 3rd world peoples, crypto would have less barriers for entry compared to stock markets.

Um 1st-3rd world definitions have nothing to do with market size. Zip.

and crypto markets size within economies is a hell of a lot smaller then stock markets. You cant compare a global crypto market to a regional stock market.

plus market cap value is a stupid measure anyway given belief plays a big role in it. With stocks we look at dividend value. I.e the actual profits coming through. Crypto has zero profits. Thus we shouldnt compare it with stocks full stop. Cos crypto doesnt earn the owner anything.

You can compare anything you want.

Maybe now is the time to buy BTC?

You can USE money. It has weaknesses, but you can use it. To store value (inflation hurts that), as a medium of exchange you can pay for things with little to no transaction costs. It is backed by the economy. By real assets. By laws. It's not just a handshake deal. It's legal tender.

Sub $20k is go, all it took was 10 months of patience and not drinking the permabull kool aid.

May start throwing some money into CRYP on the ASX and/or buying a little bit of ETH. CRYP is down 79.43% from its ATH and ETH is down 82% off it’s all time high.

May also take a bit of a break from this thread, as I did when the market was at an ATH, as there’s not much to be gained when things are going extraordinarily well/bad.

If you’re one of those ‘crypto is going to change the world and I’m in it for the tech’ people, then now is the time to buy.

If you’re one of those ‘I can’t actually explain it so I’ll drop a YouTube link every time someone asks me to expand on my thoughts and 20% APR is free money’ people you may still be a crypto fan, but now’s the time to start investing in yourself and learning to understand what your money is being invested into.

What a time to be alive! Generational profits may still be available to us after all!!
