Thinking about the long-term future of cryptocurrency invokes a strange and uncertain feeling. I mean when crypto becomes mainstream, as it inevitably will, is the spread of personal wealth essentially going to be based on an "adoption heirarchy"? Meaning that the earlier you got into the game and invested in cryptocurrency (and subsequently the more of it you have) the more wealth you will have compared to the people who were late to the party? Or will there be an equaliser where a stable, non-volatile cryptocurrency gains mass adoption and becomes the defacto currency for everyday use, and all these other cryptos get ignored and gradually fade away. Or will there be some other mitigating factor like the government, who will try to spoil the party for us early adopters and crush our dreams of becoming the new kings of society? Strange times.

Yeah, unless guys behind IOTA do something miraculously overnight I'm not expecting a huge jump.

I've only got a small play so I'm just going to hold for a little while longer as it was always a long-term play for me.

A lot of these cryptos are fighting against themselves a lot aren't they - like it seems every second one's selling point is that their transactions are fast and fee-less.

Also, anyone found a good website that lists ICO's and the management behind them?

Why will BAT explode? Looking for a new coin to HODL
my reasoning:

Top NYC media company partnership to be announced Q1 2018 (confirmed in the Brendan Eich AMA, see reddit for transcript)
twitch compatability (posted on eich's twitter)
London Letter's Jan 2018 BUY reccomendation- https://londonletter.org/ (reccomended @ 0.6 USD)

Coming soon:
Shilling from big youtube names once they recieve their BAT donations from fans like me & realize how valuable it is
coinbase listing (not confirmed, but definitely on the cards)

And the browser that supports the BAT payments (BRAVE) is just really good (though they are working on branching out to other browsers too). And that's not even going deeply into the concept itself (fixing the digital advertising industry by removing extremely expensive, speed slowing & data eating middle men, & rewarding users while protecting their privacy) which I love.

there's also an interesting idea called Oyster Pearl which has gone from 4c to $4 in a couple of weeks. It's so simple, here's the idea:

Oyster Pearl is introducing a radical new solution designed to grant website owners a new revenue stream to any website by adding one line of code, instead of relying on advertising to monetize their website. Using blockchain technology visitors to websites will contribute a portion of their CPU and GPU power to allow users’ files to be stored on a decentralized and anonymous ledger.
I've only just read about it, but it seems like a really cool idea. I'm not sure if it's good or bad for BAT. Ideally they want to remove advertising from the internet which would obviously be a negative, & really some feat. But is it ever really going to go away? And can 'renting' out CPU/GPU power ever be as valuable as receiving ad revenue for content creators? These kinds of projects may force advertisers to think outside the box compared to what they do now & actually go in harder with projects like BAT where ads are opt in rather than opt out. I think they both could work in tandem and be very successful.

Fellas, this is probably a little off topic but I'm just starting out in the crypto world, using my mobile for early transactions (my PC has shit itself). Im looking at getting a decent cheap laptop purely for trades etc and to use a nano ledger.

Any recommendations on what models/specs and added security packages I'd need would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
