Is there a better way to get alts than to deposit AUD into BTCMarkets, then buying ETH on BTCMarkets, depositing that onto an exchange like Binance or Bittrex and then buying the alts on Binance/Bittrex?

This is what I've been doing to get my alts but ETH is $100 more on BTCMarkets than it is on Binance/Bittrex so I'm losing a bit of $ in the process.

Is BTC more expensive on BTCmarkets?

People thought that they’d crack down on Uber, so it’s not a certainty. The upside of crypto is that people are becoming optimistic and spending. The more that comes out of savings to convert, the more that is spent and this is good for economies.

What govts will want is (1) a slice of the action in taxation and (2) the ability to still catch criminal transactions (difficult).

These things will drive policy, but it will take 6-12 months for anything real to happen and it will be aimed at controlling rather than squashing.
Yep exactly. Agree with all points.

The first thing I bought was a couple of Litecoin. But then I decided that I was going to long term on ripple, so I transferred that Litecoin into ripple. Litecoin was around 130 then, 330 now... Good move!

Don't worry mate, we all do this if you trade. The guys/girls which HODL [emoji23] generally see their steady climb, but for me it's all about the rush.

I moved 4 Ether and 3 bitcoin cash last Thursday to Bitcoin. Have a look at what these 2 have done in the last week. [emoji15]

Am I kicking myself now? Yes a little bit, but that's what can happen when you trade and not just sit on the stock.

My mistake here was that I didn't stick to one of my golden rules. "If you are going to trade a stock, keep 50% of it, so that when a freak scenario occurs, the hemorrhaging is somewhat controlled...

On the flip side, I just killed it with Bitcoin Gold..

Win some, lose some..

Hahah yeah I only did it because I read more about XRP and was all in on that. If I’d read later I could’ve been all in with 400 more bucks!

No stress though, considering XRP has almost tripled in the last few days. In for the long term HODL on this bad boy.

On BTC Markets website for BPAY it says $500 minimum, can I transfer less than that?? e.g $200?

Has anyone else here using BTC Markets & BPAY had any dramas??

Cheers
If that’s the minimum I would take it at face value. You could always just withdraw $300 back out once it’s processed as it doesn’t appear to have a minimum for withdrawls, but it might be tempting to just invest it all.

Apparantly you cant withdraw in AU from coinbase but can you send to other wallets? I am finding Coinspot very expensive and the buy prices are a lot higher than anywhere else.

Fees on CoinSpot don’t matter if you make sound investments. Doesn’t take long to make them up. It is annoying though, but I’m willing to pay the fees to be able to trade in the alt coins I want.

That is the best way to do it. Apparently LTC is the fastest to do this.

I think one of the functions of IOTA will be for this purpose.

BTCMarkets was good today, got funds rapidly, will be depositing another $2k tommorrow.

Buy prices are always high, they are currency exchanges after all. The transaction fee is low on BTC though.

Whats peoples thoughts on the low price alts atm?

I invested in ripple back in July, but I like the sub $1 ones.

I bought into the ICO of Mark VR today which i think has a bit of potential.

Recieved my Ledger Nano S in the mail, anyone running one of these?

I'm in on Verge today.

Have you read much more on verge?

Obviously I take all this with a grain of salt - but reddit really hates verge. It’s apparently not as private as it makes itself out to be, devs often miss deadlines and it’s big upcoming development “wraithe protocol” doesn’t actually do anything. How have you found it?

They also hate XRP though and the benefits of that are so plainly obvious.

I've read good things (not on Reddit) but admittedly much of it is anecdotal. The market is very event driven at the moment and an endorsement from McAfee could drive up the price. I've got a small position in it so happy to see how it goes.

Talking about events, this was in the news two days ago: https://bravenewcoin.com/news/gamec...to-drive-blockchain-gaming-solutions-in-2018/

I've also got small positions in FunFair and Power Ledger and they've done very well over the last 48 hours.

Posted this on the Discord earlier but will post here as well.

"The IOTA team clarified this week that it has no formal partnership with Microsoft, following the wide misinterpretation of a quote from Microsoft on IOTA’s official blog included in an announcement about IOTA’s Data Marketplace. The quote from Microsoft seemed to indicate an official partnership between the two companies and investors reacted to the news accordingly."

https://cointelegraph.com/news/iota-clarifies-misleading-microsoft-quote-no-official-partnership

This seemed to be the catalyst that recently sent iota up 400%.

Had this on my radar but think I will sit on the sidelines for a bit longer.

Very keen to get stakes in both FunFair and Verge. Still waiting on damn coinspot.

Power Ledger I need to read into.

Warning for those who use Google Authenticator, I heard if you lose your phone then you're screwed because the account isn't backed up.

Unfortunately, Binance doesn't support anything other than Google Authenticator, but I use Authy for other exchanges.

Just awaiting for my BPAY deposit to show up then I'm joining the party!

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert, but just looking at historical data from the afew crypto's..

In the past year (since Jan 2017)..
ETHEREUM has gone $11.39 to $1,022
LITECOIN has gone $4.78 to $428

Since July 2017
XRP/Ripple has gone 0.35 to 0.82

Looking at how Bitcoin has gone currently over $23,000+, do we expect the ETH & LTC to go near that?? Are they the safe bet for growth?

Or is XRP the sleeping giant? Obviously very modest growth in the past 6 months but are they the one that we'll be looking back in 1 years time saying shit I should have bought it when it was less than $1 and now it's $500....???

Ok so FINALLY got verification on Binance to work using Google Authenticator. Need some advice.

Best way to transfer crypto from BTC Markets to Binance? Read something about doing it in a particular way to save on fees or rates. Anyone experienced with this?
You just need to get your wallet address on Binance and go on BTC markets to send it there. Not sure if you have to generate the address first like you do on Bittrex. Make sure you're sending whatever coin to the right coin address on Binance. If you're sending Eth it has to be to the Eth wallet.

Yeah I'm a bit stressed about losing my phone or something. Might pull it all out into a cold wallet because with the market pumping I think its becoming too much to hold on an exchange.

The entire industry had a market cap of $20 billion USD at the start of the year. It's currently over 500 billion! Most of the investment is coming from nerds in the know, I can't image what's going to happen when Wall Street, hedge funds, mutual funds and mum & dad join the party.

Hold 90% in a hardware wallet, 10% or whatever you feel comfortable using to get in on something at a pinch that you can’t wait the few hours transfering it out of the wallet back onto exchange.

Just bought a few thousand Verge. FunFair looks real interesting too, but I might wait a month or so before making a purchase there.

Currently own a fair few XRP and just a few OMG.

Has anyone here made any money from any ICOs? I know a fair few of them seem pretty scammy and don't seem to offer a solid solution to anything but there has been a few that turn out alright. Any tips on how to find the good ICOs?
