looks like most cryptos going to be having a bad day. Not much point trading. Might actually get some work done.

Great buying opportunities tonight though.

Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting in on XRP, currently hovering around 0.99... Do you think it will continue to hover around this mark (as it did when it was sitting around 0.35 mark) until it gets its next surge?

Or are we expecting it to come down? Just not sure on timing?

XRP probably won't change much until the new year or the next positive news story whatever comes 1st. Think it surprised a lot of people hitting the $1 AU mark as quick as it did. Today might be a good day to jump on with cryptos in general having bit of a slump. Try to catch it in the low .90's.

I'm surprised the amount of $ lost transferring money around from currency to coin to exchange etc etc. It's significant. Got to be a better way of doing it than I am now.

The new zero-trading-fee exchange, Cobinhood, is now live. https://cobinhood.com/home

COBINHOOD currently supports the following cryptocurrencies: BTC, BCC, ETH, ETC, LTC, ZEC, XMR, XRP, COB, NEO, OMG, USDT, DASH, IOTA, EOS, REP, and GNT.

The exchange also supports fiat currencies, including: USD, EUR, JPY, KRW, CNY, HKD, CAD, GBP, AUD, and NTD.

The problem is that us Aussies can't create an account with them as yet.
When creating your account, you're required to tick a box which states: "I confirm that I do not reside in New York State, Australia or Japan and I am not a citizen of Australia or Japan."

I sent them an email query about it, and received this in response:

Dear ****,

Due to the regulation, the service is currently not available in certain areas. We are working on license application and we looking forward to provide ultimate trading experience to traders around the globe.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused!

Get on Powr fellas. Sit back and watch the $$$ come in

Yeah, I got some of those already. Was really annoyed that I missed out on the ICO when you could get POWR tokens for 5 cents. I had to get them when they hit the exchanges. This project is destined to be an absolute winner, as it's the only crypto currency that the australian government has backed and invested money into to help it get off the ground. The CEO and co-founder is perth's mayor, Jemma Green.

Jezus I picked a rough day to invest in the majors.

If you own property here you could try seceding from Australia, claiming your national independence as The Republic of Woota and then formally renounce your Australian citizenship.

Problem solved. Zero-fee trade your heart out!

Perth Crypto Crew meetup in Scarborough this Thursday. She'll be there.

Tokencard (TKN) has now dropped to below its ICO price of 90 cents. It seems that some investors now believe the project is dead after the token was de-listed from bittrex because the CEO failed to lodge some paperwork with the exchange before the deadline, and communication/updates from the TKN team have been sparse. A few people are calling TKN a scam, while others are still hopeful and believe the bittrex de-listing is just a hiccup along the way. I hope the latter is true, as this looked like a really promising project. The CEO has stated publicly that the project is continuing and everything is going ahead as per the roadmap on their official website.

According to what somebody wrote on Tokencard's reddit page, they have hired a new Community Manager who starts in January. Hopefully the communication will get better then, although it is long overdue.

What exchange platforms are everyone using? I've been thinking of pulling the trigger on either etoro or coinspot but reading the reviews has made me gunshy.

I've got Binance, Poloniex, Coinspot and Cryptopia.

Got on Cryptopia to buy XBY but for some reason I can't buy anything on there. the buy button stays faded and wont allow me to click on it despite having more than enough BTC for the transaction

People need to stop asking this. The correct answer is: IT DEPENDS ON WHAT COINS YOU WANT TO BUY. Not every exchange will have the specific coin you're chasing. Go to coinmarketcap.com and do a search for the coin you're interested in. Scroll down and click on the "Markets" tab and it will show you what exchanges you can purchase the coin at.

As far as australian exchanges go, BTC Markets is the pick of the bunch but your purchases will be limited to btc, bch, eth, ltc, xrp.

Cointree, Coinspot, Coinjar, Independent Reserve are other australian exchanges but they all have limitations and problems. So you will need to use binance, poloniex or bittrex. Of all the international exchanges, Binance is my personal favorite, but again their selection of coins is somewhat limited (although this may have improved as I see they've recently added LSK, which is shaping up to be a major player in the cryptosphere).

Thanks for the reply Woota. I guess my question was poorly worded as it was more geared towards the reputation of the exchanges rather than the coins themselves.

Cheers for the info.

For those in the know, Litecoin was $5.80 in Jan 2017 and is currently $430+.... What caused the growth?

I believe part of the reason is that litecoin has basically piggybacked on the success of bitcoin. IE, people who were late to the party and can't afford to purchase a full bitcoin, instead purchase litecoins because they can see that its price curve will probably follow a similar pattern to bitcoin. People have seen bitcoin's meteoric rise in 2017 and they believe litecoin is going to do the same.

And could we see a similar price growth with XRP over 2018?

Well no, XRP's price will not rise against USD at the same rate as LTC because the circulating supply of XRP is 38 billion (compared to LTC's 54 million).

Speaking of failed ICOs. The guy who created KIK messenger did an ICO for KIN, a Token he plans to launch within KIK and various other mediums. The ICO was a cluster**** and tanked HARD. They’ve been pulled off every exchange bar one, aren’t comfortable reapproaching any exchanges and basically have no plan. There’s a white paper, but no roadmap. ICO investors are talking lawsuit. In the meantime $100AUD gets you almost 1.1 million tokens, soooo if you’re feeling lucky and they ever get their shit together go drop a Hundy and become a millionaire hahaha.

PRL my dudes. Unfortunately it's only on EtherDelta atm which is a campaigner of a site.

EtherDelta is beyond ****ed. I can’t do anything on it. Errors ****ing everywhere.

Bought some power ledger this morning.

I don't buy in any ICO's too risky. Doesn't matter what the brochures etc all says.

I would rather pay more after it has been proven.

Good move! I wish I had more than a cheeky $150 in them. You see the news about Thailand?

I’m not sure why GameCredits hasn’t had more hype. That the deal with Unity looks extremely promising.

There's a lot of competition in that space from other gaming coins like ENJ. Hopefully one will emerge as the defacto gaming currency worldwide but this will take a long time to play out.
