I agree if you have an idea of what you're doing and you're only putting in money you're willing and able to lose.I’m talking in general.. people should be onto this now. Almost stupidity not be doing this.
is it just me or does Binance rape you with fees?
Massive two days, so much green. Congrats to all holders! Hopefully she kicks on as more & more mainstream $$$ jump in
Interested in getting involved... just want to have a dabble, drop $500 in and see what happens for fun.
Seeking anyone who could give advice on good exchanges/getting set up.
Signing up to BTC has become a real pain in the ass. You have to wait for a posted letter with an activation code. That's so 1990's

Coinspot is an Aussie exchange,it's easy to use, good variety of crypto to buy, down side, fees are high.
To buy ETH or BTC -Independent reserve is very cheap.Buy ETH or BTC there, then send your ETH or BTC to other exchanges wallets to buy the crypto you want-this is the cheapest way to buy & sell crypto.
Just do your research & read up a lot on the crypto you want to buy.
Once you buy a good idea is to take the crypto off the exchange and store offline either in a Nano ledger S or a Trezor ($150 each give or take).Or you set up my etherwallet.com for free.

IT DEPENDS ON WHAT COINS YOU WANT TO BUY. Not every exchange will have the specific coin you're chasing. Go to coinmarketcap.com and do a search for the coin you're interested in. Scroll down and click on the "Markets" tab and it will show you what exchanges you can purchase the coin at.
As far as australian exchanges go, BTC Markets is the pick of the bunch but your purchases will be limited to btc, bch, eth, ltc, xrp.
Cointree, Coinspot, Coinjar, Independent Reserve are other australian exchanges but they all have limitations and problems. So you will need to use binance, poloniex or bittrex. Of all the international exchanges, Binance is my personal favorite, but again their selection of coins is somewhat limited (although this may have improved as I see they've recently added LSK, which is shaping up to be a major player in the cryptosphere).
That's what I've been trying to explain to others on here. Coinspot is not a proper trading platform where you can set buy and sell orders, stop losses etc. It's a marketplace designed for simpletons who are intimidated by proper exchanges like bittrex. And it charges stupid fees. Just a waste of money.
Anyway, there are other better exchanges on the horizon.
Cobinhood is a decentralized, zero-fee exchange that has a product in beta phase atm.
ethbit.co.uk is a foreign exchange that is under maintenance right now to accept aussie users.
