If you’d bought $500 of Walton (WTC) a week and a half ago you’d have $1000 of magic internet money now. You wouldn’t be able to spend it for anything like food or anything of course.
Just brought more Walton.

im keeping a close eye on this over the next few days. Neo has a devcon and the staff from Gas, Neo, City of Zion, Trinity will all be there with a couple of big announcements to be expected. Marketcap is currently 107 million.

Just noticed TNC has increased from 34 cents to 43 cents since Friday.

Please go back and read my earlier post. Cos you can spend it, after trading it for one of Bitcoin, Bitcoin cash, Litecoin, Ethereum, Dash or Steem of course. We really need people to start to use their cryptocurrency in the real world.

That will happen when crypto debit cards (such as the ones being developed by Tokencard, TenX etc) come onto the market, finally giving consumers a simple and practical way to use cryptocurrency in the real economy without disruption to merchants as they receive payment in fiat. This will be the way forward, for at least a few years while broader society slowly adjusts to the idea of cryptocurrency.

Monaco is another crypto card starting up too,I think it's being backed by VISA.

Visa connection apparently was found to not be legitimate which crashed the price. Its a bit of a problem because a lot of these coins are using buzzwords and overstating their partnerships.

Surely this can't happen until the price fluctuations disappear. What business is going to accept payment that can lose value so quickly?

Good old ETN copping a hiding again. Their team doesn’t instill a lot of confidence for their investors.

ETN is shocking. The founders would be laughing all the way to the bank though.

It already is happening. Did anyone click on the link I posted ?? The people who are accepting payments believe in cryptocurrency so they don't care about it's relative fiat currency price and the price fluctuations. They are adopting the future and should be commended and supported by everyone in this space.

They accept it and then immediately convert to fiat. Gains them some publicly and a couple extra sales as well as the label of being an innovator so it's win/win.

That's kind of what I'm getting at. It's not a sustainable practice for most businesses to take payment in the hope that that currency is going to increase in value one day. Because so many businesses run on small margins, their going to go broke waiting to cash out their crypto.

Hmm, I guess these guys are at the other end of the spectrum and don't believe in crypto at all if they feel the need to dump it immediately.
Again it shows that crypto is pretty far off being a genuine currency at the moment.

They're a company that needs money to operate, not a speculative investment firm. Regardless of their thoughts on crypto they can't afford to be holding onto magic internet money in the hopes it will be worth more in the future.

True. If it increases their business then it’s welcome to them.

Yep, that's pretty much what I said originally. I guess that brings us back to the original premise that crypto will never be a genuine currency until all the speculation and volatility disappears. And in particular it's not the great disruptor that many believe it is, yet. Maybe it will be one day. But the reality is people trying to escape the control and fees of banks etc are just giving control and fees to the new middlemen between us and business in the likes of coinbase and bitpay. It will be an interesting environment to watch unfold in coming years.

I disagree but respect your opinion. Let's see ;)
