The difference is this time that the run at the top was far shorter than previous cycles. BTC is nuking just as bad as all coins atm. This obviously isn’t recovering tomorrow, but I also don’t think we will be waiting another 3 years to hit ATHs that were expected this cycle. Even the conservative predictions are a mile off. Heck, BTC to 100k was considered a given almost (I realize nothing is a given, but it didn’t even get close to this).
The wick half an hour ago looks like capitulation. :)

That question could have been asked without the drugs backstory haha. No one knows how low itll go. Dollar cost average over time if you like an investment and arent a chartist. Lower risk

I'm not even joking, BTC has dropped so much since last night I can't even afford a quarter of weed right now.

When's a good time to buy up? Will BTC hit a 40,000 low? What's everyone's predictions?
I know nothing about this, I just use BTC for gear.
Help!
Some people are thinking maybe even 20k USD, which would be well below the 40k mark AUD

Dunno mate. I wish I bought a Telsa when BTC was at 65k USD just to screw Elon over.

I didn’t the opportunity to load up on much BTC yet, so that’s not really hitting me too hard. It’s 1ish ETH at 5400 that is hurting me most now; however, it’s balanced out a bit with ETH in the mid 4000s. Ive only experienced about 1.5 days out of my first couple of crypto weeks in the greens haha

My first bull run was a massive learning experience. 400k up at the peak of mania, only to lose it all and come out barely breaking even. My first bear market was long and excruciating, but educational. In the words of Jesus, "The market giveth and the market taketh away."

Observe the game and try to learn how it's played while protecting your capital. It takes time and patience.

I barely even got to experience the ups, maybe isn’t a super bad thing as I’ve got used to reds 😂. I will just keep gradually putting a little more in gradually to my big 4 coins (ETH, ADA, DOT, BTC) and just ride it out until the next bull run. I still have good savings, my partner and I have stable careers, have delayed buying a new house due to the ridiculous prices atm, so HODL for me! Even if I go 10k down (pretty unlikely I think anyway), that’s fine, I’m here for the long haul and will just continue to research and understand the crypto space better.

It is definitely a good early learning experience to not get too greedy with profits next bull run either, because it can quickly go.

Crypto markets are cyclic due to BTC reward halvings.

If we topped at 65k, 59k was 'return to normal'. Smart money accumulates at the lows and sells to retail on the way up. Media attention draws in retail investment.
