At this point Bitcoin is in a bear market, ETH is on the cusp of a bear market and the market as a whole is only a whisker off it as well.
Tread carefully.

Looks like my post from 36 hours ago when BTC was $45.5k and I was telling Baccs to get out because it's overbought and in a bear market proved to be absolutely true. Price has tumbled to $33.8k.

20% swings aren't indicative of a bear market. 50% swings are.

Where did you learn that? Even bitcoin websites correctly define it as a 20% decline from its peak.

I know for a lot of posters on here it's their first crash. If you've lost a lot of money or feel like you've overcommitted and want someone to talk to please feel free to PM me. I've been there and experienced it all before and for as much arguing I do on here I'm very sympathetic to those who have had the rug pulled out from under them so quickly.

Alternately if you're really feeling depressed or anxious consider calling Lifeline on 13 11 14.

How many bear markets did bitcoin go through in 2017?

Off the top of my head I'm not sure how many bear markets there were in 2017, however the main one that started Jan 2018 was brutal.
