I had 35 eth and used 20 to buy nba tops shots at the peak in feb

What a clanger, 100k mistake
I had around 400 bitcoin at one point back in the day (2011). Used them to buy mdma, cocaine and acid. I still have #noragrets! There is no way I would have held onto any of them. Probably would have sold them even if they doubled in price.

The one I'm actually annoyed about is Dogecoin. When they first came out in 2013 I started mining them around that week. After 2 nights I had mined around 4000 on a pretty average desktop. Gave up because it didn't seem worth it (was just a joke coin back then) and it was too noisy with the fans on the computer going flat out trying to keep it cool. So I just left it at that and forgot about them.

Then to my surprise they started to pump in January. I'd since built a new computer so I was on a mad scramble trying workout where they were. I was going through old pooling websites and everything, finally found an old hard drive in a box in the roof which had a backup of some old folders and thankfully found the dogecoin client. Had to wait for it to sync for a few days until I could transfer to Coinspot. Sold them pretty much straight away at around 8c Aud.

So wish I'd tried to mine at least a few more nights/weeks as I still would have forgotten about them and only recovered them this year. Would have been nice to hold off a bit as well and not sold them as soon as I retrieved them. Ah well

I did a quick calculation :(

Is it something you have beat yourself up over in the past or just accepted it? I think there would be tonnes of people who would have done exactly what you did and no way to really have known. But shit... 20 million would buy a bit of coke and acid these days.

This.

Now is the time to be making money trading to accumulate capital for the bear market.

I've been trading a lot in the last month for this very purpose.

Yeah im thinking of getting out of a few coins - i got in reasonably high prices to make short gains and then get out and wait for the bear market.

Bored at home and waiting for the bear market can be hard.... 🤣 🤣

Where’s Ash? Haven’t seen him in a while, must be waiting for the bear run before he comes back..

The bear market is still coming.

People forget how volatile the crypto market can be and get too cocky and complacent.

Doesn't take a lot for retails greed to turn into fear.

It's always late to the party.
I know but I pumped a lot into it over the years and trust my plan.. long game on link.

But I wish I went harder in Ada. Im doing well with Ada but didn’t put as much as I should had end of last year.

Solana 100x since January. Nuts. And wish I put more into that one as well. Lol 😝

I sold all the SOL I picked up at a certain price for profit and held the earlier amount.

I don't think people realise how a bear market can impact the prices and how long they actually stretch out for.

The amount of people FOMOing into it is a great lesson for newer people to watch and learn from.

Once you consider tax Hodling is surely a better strategy for us mere mortals who can't read charts

I fomo'd into SOL a week ago at $100 aud

Is going well

That's why I have a portfolio that's got holds and shorter term coins for profit making.

Tax sucks but profit is still capital created that can be reinvested.

For someone new who should see multiple bull markets in their lifetime I'd be using the first one to create as much capital as I could for that first bear market. You'll enjoy more the $1000 profit you're reinvesting than than seeing all your coins in red for a few years.

Yeah fair for the alts but what about BTC and Eth?

My gameplan is just DCA and Hodl, I've only been in since August 2020 so only really seen the good times, but I'm just buying each week and storing it is CEL with a goal of calling my boss a campaigner and leaving the workforce by 2025

Correct on both, but bull markets can stretch out far longer than what people realise as well. Anyone who has sold all of their holdings now with the goal of buying back on a 70%+ retracement may end up being very upset if the market does another 5x in this bull run alone (very much a possibility).

I'm not going to try and predict the top by any means, but we could very easily get a shake out later this month and then a complete blow-off top lasting all the way to early 2022.

Everything I sold out in SOL I put into DOT. This isn't my hold portfolio so I can make these short term plays.

And that's a problem with crypto in that there's so many ridiculous price predictions out there you've got to make your own call on what a coin might make as it's top price and then how much from the ATH will it come down in a bear market.

I feel the world is still quite volatile at present so how long this period of bullish sentiment continues I won't bother to guess.

I'm just preparing for either situation.

Nothing wrong with strategy. It's perfect for anyone who doesn't have the time of inclination to **** around with trading shorter positions.

I have a bit of OCD and so because I had 384 SOL I had to sell 84 to make it an even 300.

I feel much better now.
I do the same thing. Except I wouldn't buy 384 to start with.
