There is no coming back!....James Sicily goes from borderline selection to going full Dermott.
I know you should never go full Dermott, but for the godfather, it just seems right. Will kick 50+ goals this season.
We have 4 A graders that basically didn't play last year - Roughie, Burton, Mitchell and O'Meara. With these additions I can only see huge upside to our performance. Add Vickery playing like he can and its a definite better finals campaign than 2016. Can't wait.
I know l'm jumping the gun but l believe Burton will be an A grader this year.Burton isn't an A-grader yet. But he will be.
Whether it's 2017 remains to be seen. Not many players are A-graders in their second season on their first full pre-season
I know l'm jumping the gun but l believe Burton will be an A grader this year.
At first I thought...Jed's son? But I assume Noah is the son of Dean?We draft 3 father sons at the end of the year.

What happens in 2019?Essendon saga to drag on into 2018 (and 2020)
What happens in 2019?
I've bookmarked this, hoping I can bring it up at the end of the season as an instance of profound foresight. My big prediction is that we will improve on our 2016 effort. I say that for two main reasons.
First, no club has improved their playing group as much as we have. We have added 4 players who didn't take part in our 2016 campaign, and lost 2, who all could be considered top 60 -or so, at the end of 2017.
Secondly, the concentration of top clubs in 2017 will directed at stopping G.W.S. and the Dogs, so we, with Clarko's modified game plan, will slip under the radar and finish top 2.
Finally, our draw should enable us to win enough games to get the double chance.
Only a bad run with injuries will stop us, and we will rejoice in the opposition cries of "we didn't see this coming."

No doubt Rough, Jaeger, Mitchell and Vickery are significant additions but we have actually lost 4 from our best 22 last year - Mitchell, Lewis, Hill and Ceglar.
I think the ins and outs are near break even. We'd be much better placed if we had kept Sam but that's done.
My concern is our midfield depth (and depth in general) is thin. This is the product of sustained success but we will rely very heavily on our 7-8 stars. Injuries to a couple key players and we could really struggle.
I think we will finish 6-8. We will need all of our guns on the park and a couple of fringe midfielders to really improve to challenge. I'm not sure that's going to happen. Injuries to a couple of Jaeger, Mitchell, Roughy, Rioli, Gunston and Mcevoy and we could miss the 8.
