I know the original thread was closed until anything more came from the cold case review and, well, this is the front page of The West today:
    https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/wa/a/31476482/cops-overlooked-serial-killer-clues/

Basically, after Jane Rimmer went missing the police installed a camera in Claremont in case it happened again. It did, and although they watched the footage when Glennon was taken, they never actually checked any of the car regos in the footage.

Twenty years, the biggest case in the recent history of the state and they're only now doing what they should have done straight away. How the hell does WAPOL solve anything?

Given the last thread was a mess I will ask all contributors to stick to the topic.

Imagine if they spot the car of one of the prime suspects trawling out the front and nicking off at the same time the victim was pinched.

Be that as it may, absolutely staggering investigative oversight/sloppiness.

Speaking of investigative sloppiness is Caporn still employed by the WA Police?

As my esteemed colleagues have mentioned I'm ok with this thread on the provision that it doesn't regress in the fashion that the last thread did.

Is there anything else new on the matter?

WAPOL have dropped the ball so many times on murder cases it is basically now routine to get in outside help.

Rayney is another one they comprehensively screwed the pooch on.

I actually don't understand why they release information anymore, I don't think the public can offer up anything else (unless they're involved). It seems as if they're just trying to justify the case being kept open when in reality it's too late, the mistakes have already been made and can't be undone.

agree but perhaps by keeping it on the radar something may drop out

I can only see this being solved if there is a death bed confession

Personally, I have to wonder if WAPOL actually want to solve this. They do not accept information from those who try to give it, and then harass them. They do not even care about photo's of dead bodies that I found in somebody's possessions.

I wonder if/when the coroner will be invited to investigate this case...

Probably 10 years too late but surely it needs to be in different hands now

I dare say this mystery will go to the grave unless someone spills the beans on their death bed
