List Lodgement 1 is this Wednesday so I'd expect the call by then, sad to see him go if true.

Cutting Kepler makes sense now that we have picked up Gumbleton but I wonder where that leaves Mellington and if we want to pass on a pick to nab someone in the PSD.

Huge boots to fill by Gumby to replace this cult hero if this eventuates...

From the same source that 2 days a go said "The Dockers won't make any more changes to their list"

You'd think with Gumby's injury history and our lack of KPP depth that he'd be at least worth a rookie spot, but that might not be enough for him at this stage of his career.
Exactly; there is nothing certain at all about Gumby. Move Mellington on by all means, but we need the Kepinator on stand-by. It doesn't appear as if he has any intention of moving interstate (reportedly speaking to WAFL clubs), so don't see the harm in keeping him on the list.

If he isn't cut from the list it could only be seen as a decision by the club, entirely made from Kepler's perspective.

To be cut then rookied seems a reasonable move but then again i would have thought picking up Mitch Thorpe as a Rookie would have been better long term value. So again, if Kep isn't cut we would be doing right by him but not in the club's best interest.

It wouldn't surprise me if kep announced his retirement.

Is Bradley behind Pavlich, Gumbleton and Taberner?

Will we play with three talls all year (Including resting ruckmen)?

Will we draft another KPF?

I would delist him and tell him their is a chance we will redraft or rookie him depend on who we pick him. The question is will Kepler want to be rookied, knowing there is only a small chance he will play?

I'd say he's ahead of Taberner and may even be ahead of Gumbleton (depending upon a variety of factors) + with Pav most likely to be managed it seems logical to keep him around.

I think coming off the knee injury, he is behind both. I would rather we got Mitch Thorp with our 3rd round pick, but if he wasnt available I would not have an issue with keeping him for 1 year.

My biggest concern is that people coming back from knee injuries generally take 2 years to get back to their best football and Kepler best football is only just enough to make the best 22.

Gumbleton was only offered a 1yr contract with possible 1yr extension. this means that even the club isn't too sure about him yet. it would seem a dangerous that the club would then delist keps the only other "ready" KPF we have.

I'm not surprised - can see why we didn't go with Pods. Weren't they better off doing this during the trade period to allow him to keep his career with another club?

Well that's it, if this happens I'm not following the club anymore.

In the end, the decision is whether the spot on the list is better taken by Kepler or our last pick in the draft - which isn't that bad a pick (58 I think). Certainly in the medium term it's hard to argue that it's Kepler. Unfortunately for him the short term outlook is that he's not likely to play until midway through the year.

Not entirely comfortable with it, but can understand it if he gets the chop.

In the best 22 nobody had Kepler in their team but they had him as back up only .
Tabener genuine forward ahead of Kepler so not many chances of a game .
Im sorry to see him go as
he is a great guy and gave us real pleasure watching him play .
He deserves thanks for his effort and Being a Kingsley Footy club boy he only wants to play for West Perth so expect him to opt for retirement rather than play for Peel .

reading the article, it seems like it is more of a kep's decision rather the clubs. i "think" the club would rather keep him as depth than delist him
