so we have Fev Hoops Scotty and JR

JR and scotty were well behaved, JR was hardly drinking...dont speculate!!! all i'm saying is a few jumped in a cab together to either go home or continue to go out, Fev is the issue here, he was the main point of my post after his performance last night! Stop naming players because apart from Fev i havent!! Half the side was out, most of them were well behaved, a handful were seen out later on, names i cannot vouch for apart from 1!!! Dont tarnish them, my issue is with the senior players i'e fev not doing the right thing by the club!

How can we have leadership and direction from the leaders of this club (I'm talking about coaching and boardroom staff here), when we have our President who once indulged in a famous drinking session after the 87 flag :D

Seriously, if you have to be realisitc, this club has been pretty soft as butter (like most other clubs in the AFL I might add though) with regards to drinking and players off-field social lives and sheninigans ..

If the club wants to become fully pro, they have to ensure an 1 am curfew (which is a reasonable time IMHO) on all nights during the season, esp after a game, and TBH serious serial offenders with the booze like Fev, and Scotland should be BANNED from any sort of alcohol during the season (even if it means the club hiring some 'minders/body guards' to ensure it doesn't happen when they go out) and have a certain limit on the amount of grog consumed by the other boys/players as well on their nights out ...

The Coach and President esp have to come down hard and lay down the law ...
Basically it's the admin at this club that have let this go on for too long, without any real serious repurcussions for the players ... (it is a bit disturbing to have another serial boozer at the club, Matthew Lappin as an assitant coach ..)

Better yet, we should get Dave Huges (a Carlton fan) who has been a teetollar for over 20 years down to the club, and explain the incident as to why he gave up drinking for good (a pretty horrible incident in his youth I am led to believe) ...
We have to try and 'use' shock/extreme tactics to curb this behaviour .. And it starts at the head/top of the club IMHO ... Because right now it appears that the players are getting carte blanche to behave/act like jack-asses without any serious punishment or recriminations ...

As for your last paragraph, Fev will only be able to corrupt those who either want to be corrupted or are too weak to say no.

It easy enough to think like this, but let's not forget, IIRC, Fev is in the leadership group. It wouldn't be as easy as it seems to go against one of the older leader's at the club, especially for the young guys...and they are young. The biggest problem is that Fev is in the leadership group and a figure with authority at the club earning a huge salary. What a shocking example the club is setting having him as a leader.

Fair go CP - Sticks had just been part of a premiership

Yeah fair enough, but for me, I just think that he might be the type of club president (and he is a true legend of the club, and a great, great man :) ) that would be hard enough when it comes to the alcohol issue ...
Having said that, lets not overreact here, thank god we haven't got players that have gotten into trouble with Spearmint Rhino sheninigans, nor been busted for Drink Driving (IE Alan Didak and Heath Shaw at Collingwood)

But it's no use/point letting the leadership group of the club decide the player code for off-field decorum and alcohol control, I think the admin and the coaching staff have to become firmer and make the tough calls (I mean really Fevola in hindsight should have been suspended in round one a couple of years ago, because the week before the first game, he had that antics of urinating on the prahan club/bar window), to me that was the club giving other players the green light to booze it up, without serious repurcussions ...

Any player who does anything to 'embarrass' the club publicly through drinking antics, should be suspended (the length would depend on the severity of the incident, and the player(s) involved)

Blueblooded, as a member of the club who is concerned about what you have seen, I suggest it would be a great idea to email the club with a please explain.
To me if any of this is true then the club must act on it and be accountable about it to its members. I think that most members would find @ least Fev's and Hoop's behavior unacceptable but if the club are not dealing with the problem then members certainly have the right to ask questions and get answers.

I know I for 1 will be very interested in what kind of response from the club you get !!!

Im surprised that nobody here has questioned whether or not all this is complete and utter BS.....does the fact we had a shit game last night and were looking for something to blame have anything to do with it?

Even if its true, which Im not convinced, what would letting the club know do? FFS a Collingwood supporter can ring up this week posing as one of us and telling the club Fev, Gibbs, Murphy, Judd and Kreuzer were out on the piss till 7 am.

As if the football club will listen to some anonymous bigfooty poster, jesus christ

True. But if the club is receiving a number of well written letters of concern from Carlton Members, well then I think it's a different story. It's not a he said/she said. It's coming from people who want the best for the club.

Yeah but then they could say its a bunch of disgruntled members on here whove read this thread and are writing mass emails. Its not going to achieve anything (Unless you have video footage or something).

When we beat the pies next week I guarantee you this thread will be quiet :)

You tell the club that there are 500 CFC members on BF that all want to know WTF is going on and why this has gone undealt with, and if the club has any character @ all, it should respond !!

Want to know WTF is going on with what? An unconfirmed rumour on an internet forum?

Well, it's a start. Better than watching our club go down the drain. They may or may not do something, but at least you have communicated your concerns and the club can take it from there. As a last resort name and shame. But at the end of the day us Carlton people/members aren't going to take this s**t performance anymore.. It's been too long.
It's not a Carlton we want to be part of. Fev or no Fev

Thats not my point, its good that you are concerned, I am too about our perfromances. Im just saying that everyone on here is getting carried away and agreeing with the OP when he has no hard evidence to support his claim. The people at the club arent idiots, they'll know if somethings going on. Everyone needs to relax and tone down their expectations, forget about the top 4 and then you wont start getting paranoid every time we lose a game.

We arent struggling because certain players are getting on the piss, were struggling cause we have certain players who still manage to get games with ease when they arent upto AFL standard.

I am sick of seeing all these bandwagoning topics poping up each week, after a win it is finals, finals, finals and after a loss it is roasts virtualy all round. Of course idealy we would love all our players to have the Chris Judd mentality, but the fact of the matter is they arnt going to act like that. I in know way condone the actions of Fevola and co, but to blame him for "corrupting" the youth is unfair. Handing out masses of money to young adults will pretty much always end in tears and after a long preseason, and a couple of months into the season, when they are all pretty much under the pump to perform better, than their current vast improvement no wonder they are resorting to the drink.
Fevola is fantastic on field leader for the club almost every week, i remember him calling the players back in to refrom the huddle, @ 3/4 time the 2nd time we played collingwood last year, for some final words of wisdom. The responsibility for the youth to act right lies with the youth themselves, and the club through punishments, carlton has been too soft and just like a child it has encouraged Fevola's behaviour through lack of punishment. It is easy to name the usual suspects of senior players, but really it is up to the club and the youth themselves, Judd grew into a fine role-model, even though West Coast's senior players were far from perfect.

Good point. But I don't think we lost on Sat night because our bottom few struggled to get us over the line. We lost because we had players who didn't want to be there(Fev,Stevo,Hoops through the year). So when your Vice captain isn't interested and your premier forward the same - to me that says somehting is wrong. We played at about 60% of our capability on Sat night. I don't care if we lose, I'm fine with that. But have a go. They're not having a fair dinkum 'go'. To me that says 'culture problem'

Always amazes me, and this goes for all clus, how players can actually physically be drinking to 4am+ regularly after games.

I just don't know how they do it. I'm sure each of us knows how much drinking wallops you after a fair deal of strenuous activity.

What. The. ****

(Unless you have video footage or something).

On another website there is a Photo (taken by a Carlton supporter) apparantly taken at 7.00am last Sunday morning of Fev and Scoto standing together outside.. (Fev with a smoke in his hand).. The Carlton supporter claims it was outside the same nightclub mentioned in this thread...
