Culture problem...

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

On another website there is a Photo (taken by a Carlton supporter) apparantly taken at 7.00am last Sunday morning of Fev and Scoto standing together outside.. (Fev with a smoke in his hand).. The Carlton supporter claims it was outside the same nightclub mentioned in this thread...

Mods is he allowed to link to this be interesting if he could??

Sorry to intrude, but i can tell you now, the OP is 100% CORRECT. I was at Tramp, along with a lot of my mates...and TBH i didnt notice any other Carlton boys but Fev...so not sure who went with him. This was at 8ish in the morning, so i dont know what time the recovery session was on the next day but its not good. But then again, its also not just refined to Carlton...
To the OP, great posting, you obviously love your club, and supporters, regardless of which team they follow, deserve better.

Gee I wish someone who witnessed this would send the club an email.

I can assure you if the boys were out this late then the coaching staff would suspect something, and potentially they are lacking some firmer evidence to confront the players. At a minimum an email to the club might see the coaches ask the players wtf is going on.

I would irrespective of this incident like to see the club enforce a 12am curfew on the playing group from March to September.

I just cannot believe guys who make their living out of playing elite sport go out and get smashed during the season. For godsake they have half the year to party and half the year to play football, what a tough life it is.

I have been made aware that the club is aware of the behaviour and that they are trying to deal with it, make of that what you will, however it is important for people to realise that it is a problem! Everyone has got to get together on this and put pressure on the place to realise this is not good enough! I'm sure they know that to, looks like a few players have been taking things for granted for to long and its high time action was taken.

Good to hear.

Well I have never EVER seen any harm done by making this sort of thing public.

Name the ones who were out late, at least the players get the message that they can be caught out anywhere and the information can be released anywhere. Let's at least make them feel uncomfortable about doing the wrong thing.

They can go out but not go hard until the off season and even they the need to ease up before pre season training. Plenty of time to enjoy alcohol after their careers.

This is a ****ing disgrace. These idiots earn squillions of dollars and have millions of people hanging on their perfomances week in and week out and they just piss on us.

Fev is a knob of the highest order. I don't care if he's one of our best players. Get rid of the cancerous spud. It's time to get serious with these repeat offenders.

As a side note, i'd be interested to hear who else left when Juddy departed. I would like to clear some names if the OP, as he has the right to do, doesn't wish to name the other offenders.

I very much agree that there is a culture problem. I believe this has caused the continual ups and downs in performance and intensity. However I don't think it is that certain players are not passionate. I beleive we have a high number of players who lack emotional maturity. On Saturday night most of the players looked like they were trying. However most seemed to lack composure and were making terrible decisions and hesitating. We have precious few players who consistently looked composed. Judd, Kruz, Eddie being amongst the minority who do seem to have consistent self belief. One of the best ways to start to fix these issues is to go very deep with discipline and with individual and group self awareness.Time for the Carlton players to actually be tough and secure rather than trying to make it look like they are.

I can't remember what the washup was from Fev's protracted contract negotiations last year, however there was talk of a 'behaviour' clause. Did it get included and if so, could this be the reason the club has put its head in the sand over the incident? (easier to ignore and hope a win over Collingwood would heal all)

Attention to all the carlton supporters .. lets all boycott next Sundays Game . I dont wanna see one carlton supporter at the Game next week .

Its about time that us the supporters who are paying the wages of these players make a clear statement " We are not gonna support you guys if you arent gonna make us feel good !

Shape Up !!

Carlton The Bipolar Blues Football Club !!

AVCO is alright. I think it just came out the wrong way...

Bah bong. Wrong.

No, there is only one possible way that advocting dont turn up could possibly be right, and this is we are all yellow and bleak, and on this http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=575688 thread.

Even in the face of rampant pigletflu should we advocate not turning up to a Carlton v Collingwood game.

This thread has been very interesting to read. i have deliberately stayed away from BF after Saturday night because I was so pissed off with the performance, especially of Fev.

Fev's impact could be so good if he was smart about the way he went about things. He is a fool who continually lets us down. I would have loved one of our leaders to go up to Fev on Saturday night and just let him have it. For too long people have walked on egg shells around this guy. Actually, they shouldn't have to really, he is old enough to know better than what he dished up on Saturday night, but still it goes on.

My daughter (7yo) loves him as do lots of young kids. Last night she told me he had a leg injury and that is why he didn't play well on Saturday night. I responded that he didn't care and that is why he didn't lpay well.

She burst into tears.:(:( I felt so awful that my word's did that to her but was also mad at Fev for having all of these kids just adore him only to be disappointed.

I don't know what the club do about him. He could have kicked one goal on Saturday night but still chased and tackled and that would have been enough.

Enough is enough.

I'm not going to name them here, but maybe a private letter to the club may be the way to go?
Do it. We can't complain about the club's poor discipline if we don't inform them of problems.

I know what i'd do, if they rocked up to recovery/training hung over/failed a breath test etc, those players would go away to do gut busting hard running and be physically pushed to their limits for an hour and then do a recovery. These blokes should be made to bust their guts on the track after a big night until they spew and then some. Being dropped for a week isn't enough, it's a soft punishment, they know they'll be back. They should then have to complete all training sessions that week to qualify for a game.

They'll learn to hate drinking and being out late. They must be made to hurt for doing the wrong thing. This is pro. football, this is not what the clubs pay them for.

If they get injured or don't pull up, bugger them, they deserve to be out any way.

That's how they'll learn, make the problem something that hurts them. Drop them to the ants, oooh that hurts... not. Next time they would think about a big night, they would think about what a 1 hour gut busting fitness session after a big night early in the week feels like. I know what it feels like, I recon this would solve the problem. Get the disciplin back at the club with harsh punishment. Not soft councelling or dropping to the VFL.

What do you suggest? Hessian undies for a week?

Thats how i feel when i see them piss it away til all hours, these blokes have got the best job in the world and a number of them take it for granted....

If the club doesnt come down hard on these ***** and they dont become disciplined in everything they do on and off the field, ala Judd, i'm going to re consider how much money i give them every year and i'll even think about pulling out all together! 8 ****ing years and we're still getting the same shit from the same blokes!!

I'm sorry if i've offended anyone with my rant and i'm sorry if people are disappointed but it had to be said. If any of the players are reading this, which i doubt, pull your ****in heads in, especially when you hit the town. You never know who is around watching, just cos the people around you are young and pissed doesnt mean they dont care and support the club enough to lag you in. Supporters have been through hell and back supporting this club over the last decade and its about time all players start realising that and putting the required effort in and being disciplined so they as much as anyone can salvage something from the trainwreck that has been many of their careers!

So we've established 7 out of the 8 players who were at the pub you were at.... Who's the 8th..

From what I can put together, There was Judd, JR, Walker, Scotland, Jamo, Who all behaved although Scotland did continue on to the early hours of Sunday Morning... FEV and Hoops were the ones who played up... So who was the 8th.. Come on.. Spit it out.. ;):thumbsu:

Anyone just catch 4 corners (flicking during the footy!) about all the sexual assault/drunken past times of Rugby League and their culture. Very interesting. I just hope our lot aren't huge brainless oafs like them..
