While no one was making any claims re the Dees in 2009, many a critic placed Carlton in the Top 4.

Each one of the players should have been saying to himself: what am I prepared to do in order to maximise our chances of success.

Am I prepared to give up the grog for a year? Am I prepared to go to bed at an acceptable time? Am I prepared to give my body every chance to recover from injuries?

If these claims are true - and they sound genuine - then you and your fellow supporters have got every right to hold the Carlton Leadership Group accountable.

Then again, Fev is in the group. He is a cancer. David Parkin was right.

Clearly your boys just don't want to win it as much as your competitors such as Geelong or St Kilda.

Perfectly worded response to this issue. It looks like Fev needs another kick up the arse for his off field antics (again) along with the one I wrote he should get on another thread for his on field antics (again). I also find it concerning that Gibbs may have been caught up in the web of Fev, Hoops and Scotty not so suprised, been at the club since this was common.
I guess something got lost in translation for some of the boys somewhere between 'playing AFL is my dream and I just want to win a premiership' and '**** it, lets get pissed'.
Hope this era at Carlton doesn't become remembered for alot of what if's and not much else.

Agreed. I got a bloody awesome photo with him. He has a good head on his shoulders. I was talking to one of the assistant coaches at North Melbourne about Yarran. He said that they could have picked up another big man but Carlton chose him because they must have seen something hidden about him.

I'm not concerned...What Fevola does in his own time/off field is his own problem. I only care about when he is on the field and kicking goals. Thats his job. If he wants to **** up his life...thats his problem.

My only concern is that Gibbs is hanging around them. He will be a future captain. Hopefully he doesn't become a sheep and follow everyone else.

Gibbs - he's still playing well but his form has dropped away. Let's face it he's not playing as good as he can.

Walker - And he's trying to heal wounds/injuries... Hmmm yeah real serious.

Fev - We saw last year that he's actually a good player off the piss, had he been off the booze all 2008 he would have kicked over 100 goals. Isn't he also trying to get over an injury. Had he been off the piss this year, he might have never hurt his heal in the first place, he might have kicked/played better and we might have actually beaten Essendon, Hawthorn and Fremantle.

Players don't care about being at their best. Dumb.

Agree about Gibbs re my recent post on this thread. Only problem with Fev going the 18 year old drunk kid after matches is that he appears to have no idea that it affects his performance on the field. Judd and Ablett arn't the best in the game because they're drinking gallons of piss and smoking durries every weekend after a game. I reckon he thinks he can get away with it because he's camped down there at FF and doesn't have to put in if the boys arn't hitting him on the chest.

I was out the front of CQ nightclub at about 4am when they all pulled up in the maxi cab...fev, Gibbs and Russel got out and shortly after went into the club. Not long after when i was inside i saw Walker aswell.
Fev was by far the drunkest, and im pretty sure he was still there at 5.30 when it closed.
I also spoke to Fev briefly and asked him about the teams chances in next weeks game against freo....all he said was "i cant wait to go out n get pissed on the cold coast"...he didnt care about the game at all!

Thanks for doing the hard work for me dumc#nt!! lol, well you're pretty much on the money with the names that got into the cab so i dont doubt you, i didnt want to name the younger blokes but since others have done it for me i dont disagree with any of them that have been named because i saw all of them out.

I'm very dissapointed in these guys, a bit of common sense at times would go a long way... not to sure how hungry these guys are about winning.

Fev is interesting, u can take this story on face value if u like i believe it myself... good mate of mine saw him at Crown last year, pissed playing blackjack and asked him how do u reckon the blues will go this year....his response was......... "who gives a ****!" and turned away. My mates a blues supporter and he wouldnt lie about so i take it on face value. Interesting Human Being to say the least!

The other day I posted that I wasnt too fussed about the boys heading out of a big night out as long as they werent breaking any lawys and were fullfilling all commitments to the team (i.e. recovery sessions and the like).

Work hard, play hard - that kind of thing.

I think im starting to soften that approach somewhat.

Clowns like Fev... and lets not beat around the bush - he is clearly the ringleader here - well they just screw it up for everyone.

I mean go out, get pissed, pick up, go home (in a cab - you earn enough freaking money to afford a cab ride). No issues there - but the night after a big game and right before a recovery session?

There are other things to do than get pissed. It's not on fellas. It's part of the job, don't ruin your body.
