On the Eagles forum one of their supporters said that Cummings is as good a FF as Dunstall & Lloyd.
Lol, they have no idea.

Yeah, obviously i'm a fan of Cummings.
But his nowhere near the class of Dunstall.
His is not that far of Lloyd, after all, he won the Coleman Medal in 99 and was leading in 2000 before he got injured.
But i still think Lloyd is better because he is capable of playing in more than 1 position. Although, i dont think Scott is to far behind.
As for Dunstall, however, anyone suggesting that any current Full Forward is in the same class as Dunstall are kidding themselves, except of course for Bryan Beinke, he is just pure class.
Seriously though, Dunstall, Ablett and Lockett are in a class of their own when considering Full Forward of the last 2 decades.

Lloyd's not as good as dunstall anyway, and any TV or Print media person Knows it's more popular to say Plugger or Ablett are the best

But watch out for the arab...

I'm surprised that Lloyd's form and role this year has been a little overlooked by the scribes. He's the guy that gives the Bomber players a positive target so that they feel that, if the game becomes a shootout, they will win. A definate Top 10 player. Remember that game V North at the 'G when, even tho' he didn't kick many goals, he continually beat Martyn one out in the air and on the ground, setting the tone.

If Hamill is $500,000, how much is Lloyd worth ?

On that, Hamill is ( or was ) not in the Blues top 6. MacKay however ....

Im a Cummings fan and he did beat Lloyd to the coleman last year but Lloyd can play anywhere and he also got quite good skills all round.
Whereas Scotty is one of the best leading forwards in the game and i wouldnt count him out of the coleman next year, if Cousins and Kempy keep putting it on his chest, like they always do.

i rate lloyd well ahead of cummings
and close to dunstall

not only did lloyd kick 109 goals this year
he spent most of his time out of the goal square, was essendons leading kick getter
and also had to compete with hird, lucas, caracella etc etc etc

and dont forget the most remarkable thing
lloydy is still only 22

Crowz4eva ummmmm probably. This year Lloyd only kicked in total 14 more goals than Cummings did last year and Lloyd did it with a very healthy supply of ppl getting it to him like Carracella Hird Mercuri Johnson and Johnson.
Essendon have such a better midfield than the Eagles do so i think the real question is would Scotty Cummings have kicked 109 goals for the Dons this year...Probably.

To compare Lloyd to Dunstall is just silly. Dunstall is a legend of the game- only two others have kicked more goals in the history of the game- Lloyd is only 22, he may be as good in the future, but not now.

As for Lloyd and Cummings, there is simply no comparison. Lloyd is an infinatly better footballer- both skilwise, and in his attitude to the game. I have to disagree with j23's claim that Cummings would have kicked 100 goals if he had played for Essendon this year. This is utterly false.

Remember, Cummings could not kick 100 goals in 99, when he was the sole focus. The Eagles were on top of the ladder in rd 15 last year; remember that. Obiously they had a midfield good enough to get them into such a position, so this is not the reason why he did not kick 100 goals- he had plenty of chances.

Cummings'style of play would not fit in at Essendon. Contrary to what has been claimed, having more goal scorers, makes it HARDER for a FF to kick 100 goals, because he is competing with more people. Has Cummings ever had to play as a decoy for a player like Hird. Lloyd has. Would Cummings be able to play such a role. No! Therefore, how would he just slot into Essendon's team and kick 100 goals. He'd probably find himself sitting on the bench. Cummings'one-dimensional style would DENY Essendon oppurtunities, there is no way Essendon would be as good as they are, if SC was playing for Essendon.

What price a champion?

Pretty low if Cummings and Lloyd are mentioned in the same breath as Dunstall!!!

Gee...

Alotta friends of mine think Cummings is better then Lloyd & Dunstall. When I asked them to back their statement by saying why, their reply was "Well. This year Scotty kicked 14 goals in 1 match didn't he??".

I think I need new friends.

Well no way is cummings better than dunstall and never will be, Jase is a champion and to even try and compare cummings to duntstall that is just stupid!!!

Would everyone stop bagging Scotty Cummings hes one of the best full forwards in the game today, he won the coleman medal last year and he can a lot more goals of any of you ppl bagging him!!!! So hes one dimensional but stop me if im wrong here full forwards are supposed to kick goals and he kicked 95 of them last year and had 45 of them this year before being injured so just lay off!!

Lloyd and Cummings are nothing on Dunstall whoever said they were is an idiot.

cummings isnt a team player like lloyd is. He doesnt have the same skills by any stretch of the imagination- how many goals does Cummings DIRECTLY " setup" ??????

Either way- I apologize for bagging scotty at the Paramount last year. Calling him a useless Essendon reject was totally uncalled for. (although so was the smack in the mouth he threathened me with)

While not doubting Lloyds talents, he isnt a 'traditional' FF. By that i mean he plays more like a flanker, but as the main forward line target nonetheless. Sort of like Blight did, and Jarman in his later seasons.

Jason was just a FF as it was really the only possie he could play. Cummings is the same, there isnt anywhere else on the ground he is of any use. Lloyd could play anywhere and probably do it well. Saying that i dont think he will ever kick a 'big ton' of 130+ goals.
Still a 100 or so a year should be enough to keep the Dons fans happy

How can we compare Lloyd to Dunstall (yet) Lets give him another 8 or 9 years and see?
He's only 22 and look at him now!!

Ohhhh ookkkayyy Arch!!
I see now...so your one of those dickheads at pubs and clubs who call out and give shit to famous footy players!?!!? I see those types of guys all the time and always think to myself how much of a fool they are making of themselves.
And a punch in the face would defintely not be uncalled for!
Whenever I see Eagles players out there are always guys (jelous i assume) that yell crap out to them....how sick of it must the footy guys get!? Its so STUPID

MODRAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok he might not be the best of all time but he used to take a nice catch.

Anyway big Tony Lockett was the best I've seen. When you can do a 180 & kick a goal with 2 guys hanging off you then you are a fair player.
