My Docker mate reckons last nights game proves that our Twin Peaks wont work. I got far to excited to give something other than a ONE EYED analysis.

Anyone got an opinion?

i think while watching the game i saw one instance where Cummings was going for the mark and Wilson got in his way and the mark didnt come off

i think they just need more game time so they can become more like the Cummings/Matera combination

One thing id like to know.. was Cummings injured or did Judge drag him??

I hate it when he does that!!!

There will be conflict I think if the two dont want to work together.

I'm just waiting for the day where Cummings goes sprinting up the left, wilson up the right, the opposition have no idea whats going on an then the pass goes to Phil in the goalsquare...now that would be a sight to see

It can work, they just have to trust and know each others placement on field. They can use it to their advantage, Cummings leads the pack in one direction and Wilson bolts out and makes a strong lead.

Although I would say if the game was a draw and there was a choice on who got the final kick for us, I'd be more confident with Cummings

Heaven forbid we should be in that situation and have Wilson kicking for goal..

Great strong player, but lets be serious, he needs to work on his kicking, but never mind, hes got plenty of time to get it right

I think the verdict is still out. I dont think there will be any animosity between the two because they both (especially Cummo) seem like out going guys who just want to win. Cummings at FF and Wilson in a pocket with Joey and Merenda crumbing around should work in theory.

Still dont know why Cummings only played the 1st quarter in the derby??

I don't think they work together. The forward line works to create space for the FF to lead into, it is too complex to make two spaces. Scotty is still not 100% so it is good to use him sparingly and let him rip home in the second half of the season.
Also, give Willo a go in the ruck at times. He has a big leap and is powerful in build. Lonmuir outmuscled Gardy a few times, body on body. I'd like to see him do that against Willo

Cummings is paired up with phil matera, they work together to produces a shit load of goals. Wilson should be paired up with someone else and have a similar role as cummings.

The eagles coaching staff should then draw up a series of plays that open up oportunities for either one pair or the other. Make both pairs memorise them so well that they'll be dreaming of the plays. But the plays should be so simple that in any given situation each player knows automatically which plan to use. Opposition teams will struggle to match up two tall forwards and two short forwards and plug two holes infront of them. This sort of co-operation would give the eagles a formidable forward line.

Add to the equation Gradiner at CHF and if the opposition do somehow stop our Cummings/Wilson combination then gardiner will find space and kick goals himself.

IF the opposition does shut down those 5 players then there's always McIntosh, Cousins, Roo, Fletch and Williams who can all score goals.

Our forward line should be formidable, at least not as predictable as last year.

i think we should have Cummings at Full Forward with Phil Matera as a crumber - they should be the only 2 in the forward line.

Wilson isn't overly tall (188cm) and could probably be outmarked when he gets one-out with a fullback.

I would play Gardiner at CHF, and use Merenda as a crumber, and Wilson could be a second target around the CHF area.

On a related note, Ken Judge's comments this evening suggested Cummings spent so much time on the bench because he hadn't played for a couple or weeks, rather than disciplinary or other reasons.

I still think we are making too much of this. Cummo and Willow have played two games together .... wait until it at least becomes a regular thing and then maybe after a couple more rounds we will see if it is working or not.
