A weird poll l know, but both are good midfielders who both know how to win the contested footy.

Ebert averages slightly more disposals, tackles, hit outs and inside fifties with a slightly higher disposal efficiency than Cunnington.

Cunnington averages 4 more clearances a game on average, more contested footy, 1%ers and goals on average for this year.

Both are important players for their respective sides. Who has been better in 2015?

Very even!

Ebert marginally for me.

Cunnington
I'm a bit surprised that Ebert doesn't get a super amount of contested footy and has transitioned into a player that plays outside and in the contest rather than just an inside mid.

i think cunnington is underrated
I say Ebert is as well, at least in some sections of the media, he's averaging over 23 disposals a game, its quite good.

Eberts a workhorse and finds plenty of the ball but lacks polish

Cunnington would be more effective in the center clearances wouldnt he?
Yes and no. He can fend off at Martin levels, slow down time on occasion and one of the best long handballers I've seen, but he sometimes gets exposed on the spread and lacks a tank, averaging 76% tog.

Ebert's a good run-all-day, link-up player who puts in a consistent performance every week, very valuable to his team and when Hinkley's game plan actually worked, he was very good in it. If his kicking was a bit more precise, he'd be ahead.

Cunnington's more your inside bull who racks up clearances and contested possessions, does not get the kind of disposal numbers the Ebert probably does but his disposals mean more because they're not won cheaply. Also a very reliable set shot. Rarely has a bad game but often has quiet ones - if he could play influential games more often, he'd be ahead.

As it stands, fairly even. Cunners is more 'my type' of player as a ball-winner, so I'll go Cunners.

I'm a huge Ebert fan but I think Cunnington has passed him. Almost, almost, get the feeling that PA would be better off with an inside bull like Cunnington in the side and North could use another hard running mid like Ebert in the side over Cunners but I feel Cunnington will be that much better a player in a year's time that I'll look very silly saying this.

Cunnington is a bit underrated for mine probably because he's a bit workman like and not really flashy. Way better footballer than Ebert anyway.
He's a less refined and classy version of Pendlebury in that he can slow down time in the contest and is one of the best handballers I've seen at North.

From memory cut us up in your win over here last year.

I'm looking forward to the inside contest this week, some absolute bulls in there.
