Yeah, I don't like his attitude at all - skilled player but needs to pull his head in and realise playing AFL is a privilege & not a right

We'd need Dr. Freud in here to sort out his mentality.

Great article from The Age, 12.10.05 by Michael Gleeson titled "Recycling shown to be just rubbish" Talking about the fact Carlton took 13 players from other clubs in 2002 and what happened to them.

"Daniel Harford, although only 27 when the 2004 season began, was past it. The Blues gave up pick 51 for Harford and fellow ex-Hawk Brett Johnson, one of yesterday's casualties.

While it is easy to dismiss the trading as a necessity, this is hollow. Carlton could have had picks from 35 onwards. Sure that sounds late, but the players who now offer Carlton hope — Kade Simpson, Brad Fisher and Adrian Deluca — were all taken after pick 45.

PAGAN'S RETREADS
Mick Martyn: '02 national draft (ex-Kangaroos). Retired end '03. 13 games.

Jordan Bannister: pick 69 in '03 national draft. Ex-Essendon. 22 games, five in '05. Still on list.

Glen Bowyer: pick 63 in '03 national draft (ex-Hawthorn). 7 games. Retired end '05.

David Clarke: traded end '03 from Geelong. 12 games. Delisted '05.

Daniel Harford: traded end '03 from Hawthorn. Retired end '04. 9 games.

Brett Johnson: traded end '03 from Hawthorn. 32 games. Delisted end '05.

Cory McGrath: traded end '03 from Essendon. 31 games, 19 this year. Still on list.

Digby Morrell: traded end '03 from Kangaroos. 32 games. Delisted end '05.

Ricky Mott: pick 57 in '03 national draft. Delisted end '04. 2 games.

Heath Scotland: traded from Collingwood. 41 games. Still playing.

Nick Stevens: pre-season draft, 42 games. Still playing.

David Teague: traded by Kangaroos. 43 games. Still playing. Won '04 B & F.

EQUATION: 13 players. 6 remain.

Barnaby French: traded from Port Adelaide. 51 games. Still playing."

In a former life of mine I worked in recruitment. One thing I learned very quickly was that past performance is an indicator of future behaviour In other words, If Essendon dont want Cupido and dont think hes worth persisting with, THATS IT, the door is or certainly should be shut permanently to Cupido joining the Hawks - or any other team for that matter.

Cupido would have more pure talent than 90% of AFL listed players.

He should be one of the players that brings people in through the gates, he should be a player that is one of the first selected every week.

That he's now likely to be looking for a third club and that's also from two clubs that had Matthews and Sheedy as his head coach...

Wasted talent was never a more fitting description than to one D.Cupido.

Reminiscent of J Crawford.

I would personally prefer to take a punt on Norman rather than Cupido, as we all know Cupido is only a small opportunist forward. I reckon Norman shows a bit and i think we could groom him into a Tall wingman in the mould of Embley. Both Norman & Cupido have talent but need to change their mentality or they will go nowhere with their football.

Give Norman one season to straighten himself out, if he doesn't then we flick him simple as that. So talented, but such a goofball, he is so dumb and throwing away every kids dream.

Yes!
Sic another dud onto the Blues or Pies, let them burn up their precious resources for 2 fruitless years then delist him while we get a kid who might actually have a go.

I'd probably give Cupido a miss, but I'd be happy to punt on either Norman or Gaspar. Not a lot to lose by giving either of those guys a trial.

Gaspar I'd definately look at. I think the Eagles rate him, but they wont offer him a two year because of past injuries. I think we can afford to give him that, he'd have more chance of making it and having a pretty hand upside over the guys on the list's spot he's taking (Scott, Greene, etc.).

McLaren aswell... need more ruck support, although I was hoping for a better option that this.

We would have to weigh up Normans ability V's his impact on our young playing list, very risky proposition.

If he's there, Gasper is a must. Ready made full back which will allow Roughie/Boyle to have a greater impact at CHB-CHF or FF. The project players (Dawson and Thurgood) will be able to develop their skills on the 2nd or 3rd tall forward, and with Andrew Russell's program Gasper should prosper and hopefully avoid his recent spate of injuries. I am not a avid fan of Campbell or Taylor so the Ruck position is scary, but I think the FB is more urgent. Pick a kid with one of the 6 we have or wait until next year. Campbell and Taylor are not going to be guns, but can compete for now. With our abundance of "in and unders" we will just need to learn how to rove to the oposition ruck, it can be done.

In summary - Gasper for PSD - VOTE NOW!!!
