Great article from The Age, 12.10.05 by Michael Gleeson titled "Recycling shown to be just rubbish" Talking about the fact Carlton took 13 players from other clubs in 2002 and what happened to them.
"Daniel Harford, although only 27 when the 2004 season began, was past it. The Blues gave up pick 51 for Harford and fellow ex-Hawk Brett Johnson, one of yesterday's casualties.
While it is easy to dismiss the trading as a necessity, this is hollow. Carlton could have had picks from 35 onwards. Sure that sounds late, but the players who now offer Carlton hope — Kade Simpson, Brad Fisher and Adrian Deluca — were all taken after pick 45.

In a former life of mine I worked in recruitment. One thing I learned very quickly was that past performance is an indicator of future behaviour In other words, If Essendon dont want Cupido and dont think hes worth persisting with, THATS IT, the door is or certainly should be shut permanently to Cupido joining the Hawks - or any other team for that matter.
