Most people on these shows would be crooked in some way but I do feel sorry for them. They are mostly simple folk with little education and hardly have to quick wit to avoid the tricky questions of the ACA/Today Tonight "reporters" who are there just to make them look bad.

Reminds me a bit of

What, just for today or for good?
For good. I think. They're just making the actual news go for an hour.
Wouldn't be counting my chickens if I was in Geelong. It's like a whole nother country out there. Didn't they just get electricity? :p
We're up with the times. Just last week I bought a brand new VCR so I can watch my tapes.

Did LOL at the shows being retained in Adelaide and Perth on the basis of local content (and in turn local ratings).

That's just a polite way of saying 'yeah whatever happens in Adelaide/Perth is of zero interest to anyone outside Adelaide/Perth but apparently fascinating to those that live there'. :)

Then everyone in Adelaide and Perth should feel bad :p
Yeah, we've just got a better class of bogan here . Lucky sods.

Wish the ABC would gather the old Frontline crew together, make it a daily show and see if anyone can tell it apart from the actual current affairs shows.

most bizarre thing about this is that apparently (according to 9's director of news and current affairs) TT still does really well in Perth and Adelaide.
Don't know about Adelaide, but Seven's news has dominated ratings in Perth for years, which is pretty hand for whatever is following it. The two shows have had the same hosts for a long time.

yeah they definitely haven't had that continuity in the eastern states. Have had more hosts than you can poke a stick at over the journey.

plus 7 news has always played 3rd fiddle to 9 and 10 since i can remember
